Demistifying Azure Kubernetes Service networking

This session is an addition to my Azure Kubernetes Service Quickstart. It is assumed you already know what a pod, container and kubectl is. A lot of developers struggle with the networking side of Kubernetes. In this session I will make things so simple that you wish you knew this sooner. We will get into certificates, DNS and much more.

Why I use a 35-key split ergonomic keyboard and why you should too

We all use keyboards every day in our interactions with computers. We type 1000 to 5000 words of code alone per day. And then all the emails and messages that come with it. It amounts to millions of words per year. We all use our keyboard so often, but never really think about it. Why is a keyboard the way it is? And are there things you can improve? Maybe even make it specific to you? And how? In this presentation I will discuss ergonomics and layout, among other things, and dive deeper than you might have thought was possible. I will also include a number of examples, making it a very interactive session.

Create value faster with GitOps on AKS

In this session you will be pulled into the world of Flux, Kustomize, and Helm to create value faster with Azure Kubernetes Service. I will show a different way to deploy features that don't need complex pipelines and build steps.
To deploy a feature to any environment you only need to push it to master! Although this technically works, we will dive back into the real world and discuss the real-world consequences and opportunities of using GitOps in AKS after this utopia.
Knowledge of pods, containers, and helm charts is required to follow this session well.

Use GitOps and AKS to do away with complex and timely pipelines.

The most impressive technologies from Blockchain

What was once an exciting technology has turned into scam central. The presentation explores innovative aspects of Blockchain that may be salvaged from its ashes. During the session, some creative technologies that allowed the Bitcoin revolution will be explored. Attendees will learn about Schnorr signatures, Merkle trees, and Taproot to understand what made Blockchain so special and what we can still learn from that.

Technical session, definitely meant for software engineers.

Azure Kubernetes Service Quickstart

In this session, we will dive into Kubernetes headfirst and how you can leverage Kubernetes to host a powerful application platform. We'll give an introduction to the concepts and features to get you up and running. Of course, the session is not enough to start as a Kubernetes engineer, but it will allow you to explore the possibilities of working with the stack.

Powershell: beyond the basics

Some of you may use Powershell now and then. I was one of those people. We just create a small script that will run after a release to wait a certain amount of time to let the release finish. But next thing you know you are automating full-on certificate requests from a JSON file. Now your Powershell scripts need a level up. During this session you will learn exactly how to do that.
