Lorraine Hamilton is a former RF engineer, ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC), coach educator and working stand-up comedian. She brings an engineer's eye for systems and patterns to the wonderfully complicated business of being human.
With 20 years in professional coaching and a background in telecommunications leadership, Lorraine works with individuals, leaders and professional coaches to understand the patterns behind behaviour, challenge assumptions and find simpler ways forward.
Her work spans leadership, organisational culture, human behaviour, professional coaching and the human side of technology adoption. She's particularly interested in what happens when capable people find themselves struggling with systems, expectations or ways of working that don't quite fit.
Based on New Zealand's Kāpiti Coast, Lorraine combines technical thinking, deep human insight and a healthy appreciation for the absurdities of everyday life.

When Copilot Adoption Stalls: A Troubleshooting Workshop
Your Copilot rollout is underway, but some people are still working as they did before. Is the problem training, trust, the work itself, or the way success is being measured?
Bring a real adoption challenge to this practical workshop, or work with a provided case. You'll use familiar troubleshooting skills alongside coaching-style questions to investigate what is happening before deciding what needs to change.
I began as an RF engineer and was already a professional coach when I managed two engineering teams at 2degrees. I learnt that shared outcomes don't require everyone to contribute in the same way.
Working with other delegates, you'll examine what you've observed, challenge assumptions, consider the experiences of the people involved and distinguish essential standards from choices that can vary.
You'll leave with:
• A clearer, evidence-based hypothesis about what's stalling adoption.
• Questions to use with staff and stakeholders before prescribing a fix.
• One small intervention to test, with measures that show whether the work actually improves.
Bring your toughest adoption puzzle. No one will be sent on another training course as the default fix.
What If Your Copilot Adoption Problem Isn't What You Think?
An engineer's approach to the human side of Copilot adoption.
You've rolled out Copilot, trained your teams and checked the usage figures. Some people still work exactly as they did before. Do they need more training, or have you misunderstood what's happening?
I was already a professional coach when I became Radio Access Manager at 2degrees. I managed engineers with different strengths and priorities while remaining accountable for shared network outcomes. When a site underperformed, we investigated. Nobody sent it on a training course and asked it to have a better attitude.
In this interactive session, you'll investigate one stalled adoption case twice. As new information emerges about the person, their work and what success means, you'll see how quickly a reasonable-looking diagnosis can change.
You'll leave able to:
- Spot assumptions hiding behind adoption figures before prescribing a fix.
- Ask questions that uncover why a particular person is or isn't using Copilot.
- Distinguish increased usage from improved work, and choose one change worth testing.
Bring your troubleshooting skills. You may discover you're already better equipped for the people side than you thought.
