Weathering the Storm: Mental Health on the High Seas of Software Development

Mental health isn’t a sign of weakness-even the bravest pirates need a steady hand and a strong crew. How do you chart a course as an outstanding Angular developer without letting your health, family, or spirit drift off course? The drive to master our craft can leave us battling burnout, stress, and neglected relationships-our step count drops, our posture bends, and our family signals SOS.

In this session, we’ll drop anchor and speak honestly about the storms we face: burnout, anxiety, physical aches, and the pressure to be perfect. Through real stories and practical strategies-like setting boundaries, balancing deep work with downtime, and building your crew-you’ll learn how to stay shipshape, at work and at home.

Whether you’re a seasoned captain or a new deckhand, you’ll leave with tools to help you sail toward a healthier, more balanced developer’s life. Steady as she goes-no one navigates these waters alone.

AI Pirate Code-Off: Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann Battle for the AI Waters

Curious about what AI Model is most reliable to assist you on your Angular Codebase? Want to learn the answer through a fun Pirate Adventure? In this 20 minute workshop we will be the driver and setup 3 different agents to be our navigators each using a different AI Models within the Cursor IDE. We will give one of our navigators the personality of Jack Sparrow (GPT), one will be Will Turner (Gemini), and one will be Elizabeth Swan (Claude). We will then have them navigate us one similar tasks in an already existing latest version of Angular codebase to see which character and model is the most reliable to help navigate us through the creation of components, the setup of signals, and the creation/refactorization of features.
