Remove the Mask, Meet Authenticity

We all wear masks from time to time to hide our pain, fears, and insecurities. When the masks stay on too long, it’s easy to lose sight of who you are. Getting rid of your masks and bringing authenticity into your life makes you feel better about yourself and takes your life to a whole new level of understanding. Learn what it means to be authentic, especially in the early childhood field with an introduction to the nine dimensions of authenticity. You will discover new ways to understand yourself and others that will increase your self-confidence and lead you to become a more relevant leader of young children.

The Long-Term Value of Authentic Leadership

Authentic Leadership and Workplace Authenticity are popular words in today’s work environments. Although they are primarily applied to businesses, both concepts have dramatic impact for the Head Start community. In a world that will potentially be largely run by artificial intelligence when current Head Start children reach adulthood, it may be increasingly difficult for them to recognize their authenticity and their natural gifts and talents. In this session Head Start leaders will gain a new understanding of what it means to be authentic, how it applies to leadership roles, its impact on team relationships, and actions that leaders can take to bring greater authenticity into the Head Start classroom and workplace.

Maximize Natural Gifts and Talents for Yourself and the Children

We were each born with a unique set of natural gifts and talents and express them excitedly in our preschool years. When teachers and parents recognize children’s gifts and give opportunities to develop the gifts, children gain greater chances for successfully adapting to the many changes and challenges life will present. When teachers and parents know their own gifts and talents, they too can better adapt to life by finding ways to express their authenticity as often as possible. Take the inventory to discover your natural gifts and talents then consider how you can use them for yourself, in your classroom, at home and in the world.
