In this video I will talk about the challenges that I faced in my DevOps journey and various technologies that I learnt in my journey. I’d like to share some insights on “Things to know before starting your DevOps career”.

1. What is DevOps?
DevOps is a state of mind or culture that tries to implement the best practices using DevOps tool.

2. Good hold on Linux basics and scripting.
Learn scripting that will help you to automate repetitive tasks.

3. Understanding cloud platform.
Learn any one of the cloud provides like Azure, AWS, GCP.

4. Learn programming languages.
Its not mandatory to learn programming language, but it will help you to understand the workflow and how developers are writing the source code.

5. Communication and collaboration.
We usually ignore these skills but they are equally important as we learn new DevOps tool.

6. Self -Study.
Try to do self-study also as it brings consistency in whatever field you are trying to excel.

7. Enroll yourself in any DevOps course.
Being a fresher it becomes little difficult to know about different DevOps tools, I faced the same issue, you can enroll yourself in any DevOps course that will give a path or we can say as initial start to your career but do not forget to do self-study.

8. Understanding the concepts.
Concepts are very important to understand, that gives you a basic understanding about how different DevOps tool work. It helps us in implementing the right tool for automating any manual process.
