In this session, we’ll explore how to implement row level security (RLS) in a Power BI semantic model so that each person can access only the information relevant to their hierarchical level, allowing them to view not only their own data but also that of the people they are responsible for.
In addition, we’ll learn how to enable peer-to-peer comparisons, allowing each user to analyze their performance within their “league” anonymously, with the appropriate context, and without compromising confidentiality.
Because, in the end, the key isn’t seeing more… but seeing the right things and comparing yourself to the right people.

When working on a Microsoft Power BI project, testing the semantic model often takes a back seat, whether due to a lack of time or the effort involved in validating it manually. We often assume that everything should work, but that doesn’t guarantee data quality, referential integrity, or the expected results in the metrics.
In this session, we will explore how to automate tests on semantic models in a reusable way to validate the model systematically. By leveraging the capabilities of Semantic Link in Microsoft Fabric, we will learn to detect issues such as duplicate keys and inconsistent relationships, and, using AI tools, identify discrepancies between the model’s metrics and its data source.
A hands-on session aimed at introducing testing into semantic model development through automation, paving the way for its integration into CI/CD workflows.
Modelos semánticos bajo control: automatización de pruebas en Power BI en es
Durante la ejecución de un proyecto de Microsoft Power BI, la realización de pruebas sobre el modelo semántico suele quedar en segundo plano, ya sea por falta de tiempo o por el esfuerzo que implica validarlo de forma manual. A menudo damos por hecho que todo debe funcionar, pero eso no garantiza la calidad de los datos, el cumplimiento de la integridad referencial ni el resultado esperado en las métricas.
En esta sesión veremos cómo automatizar pruebas sobre modelos semánticos de forma reutilizable, para validar el modelo de manera sistemática. Aprovechando las capacidades de Semantic Link en Microsoft Fabric, aprenderemos a detectar problemas como duplicados en claves, relaciones inconsistentes y, mediante el uso de herramientas de IA, identificar discrepancias entre las métricas del modelo y su origen de datos.
Una sesión práctica orientada a introducir las pruebas en el desarrollo de modelos semánticos mediante automatización, abriendo la puerta a su integración en flujos CI/CD.
