Querying the data with T-SQL, M, DAX and PySpark
Querying data is the act of asking questions regardless of the source.
Data stored in databases can be queried using proprietary languages such as the SQL family tailored to each database.
The M language, a key component of Power Query tools, is instrumental in data analysis.
When working with tabular models, DAX queries take center stage, providing a powerful tool for data analysis and manipulation.
Data contained in files can be queried, too.
This session will develop the examples using different languages: TSQL, PySpark, M, and DAX. We will use their corresponding environments: SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft Fabric, Power Query, DAX Query View of the Power BI, and DAX Studio queries.
We will see the structure of the query in each case, and you will gain practical skills for working with filters, groupings, aggregations, and combinations.
This session is designed for individuals who work with external data stored in relational databases or files and those who use DAX to query tabular models.
