The Future For Developers And Consultants
The days of "The Beauty Of Simplicity" are over. Our new world is not about surviving, it is about thriving. Business Central brings us more new opportunities than we ever had in the old Navision world.
We will take a look into our crystal ball and see where today's developers need to change to thrive in the Brave New World. Covering the core of the new technologies with a very broad brush, we will give you an insight into the skills you must have to survive, and the skills that will set you apart from the crowd to build your successful future.
For the dinosaurs, we will discuss the catch up and how to leverage your experience. For the new blood, we will offer suggestions to help you to decide where to fit in the new Business Central EcoSphere. The focus will be the future, not lamenting the past. This is a time to plant seeds to grow.
Mentoring a path to a Business Central Career
Business Central is suffering from growing pains. We see a severe shortage of Business Central skills, which leads to partners struggling to fill vacancies and thus hinders their ability to grow. On the other hand, we also have a huge base of extremely qualified personal such as consultants, developers and project managers that are struggling to find their path from Navision to BC.
Today I would like to discuss career paths and how a hybrid model of mentoring, coaching and training can help connect the dots and solve both these issues. With emphasis on how this can be achieved based on a Freelance model that will be financially sustainable.
If you are new to Dynamics and thinking of a career in Business Central or if you are currently in the Navision world and want to move to BC, then this is the session for you.
Is your Business Central still on Prem? DONT PANIC!
You are not alone. The majority of NAV/BC users are still on Prem. What ever the reason, SQL Server will remain a part of our lives for quite some time.
Let’s address some of the common SQL Server questions:
• What are the various SQL server options?
• How easy (complex) is it to move to Azure?
• How does PaaS compare to IaaS?
• Where is the balance between cost and performance?
• How do I get the most out of my SQL server?
• What do I do when my Server is slow?
Along the way we will touch on some of the myths and rumors of SQL Performance Tuning.
Are We There Yet? The Journey from NAV to Business Central
You’ve survived the journey, but are you there yet?
You sell Business Central, you program with AL-GO, you’ve even published an app—but does your team feel like a modern BC partner? Or are you still thinking like a NAV shop?
This session explores what it really means to evolve from a NAV consultancy to a successful Business Central partner. It’s not about code or licensing. It’s about shifting mindsets across the individual, the team, and the sales process. We’ll compare where we came from—pragmatic, project-based, hands-on—to where we need to go in the world of SaaS, vertical offerings, and standardized delivery.
Building on my earlier presentations at NAV TechDays and Days Of Knowledge Nordic, this session looks at the mindset of a NAV legacy and questions how to move to the Brave New World without getting left behind.
