Do you remember learning Algebra in school for the first time? I remember sitting in my desk feeling dazed and confused as Mrs. Owens jots down an equation, 4000x + 18 = 4.5. Now solve for X, she says… as I think to myself “I am never going to figure out this X, let alone Algebra.” Mrs. Owens, was a fantastic teacher and noticed my confusion. She helped me out before school one day to solve for X and something stuck. I GOT IT! From that point, I ate mathematics up. I graduated from college with a mathematics degree thanks to hard work, studying and solving 4000x + 18 = 4.5.

Fast forward and I am at an AMAZING company Microsoft where challenges like 4000x + 18 = 4.5 are everywhere. My job is to make solving for X for our incredible recent university hires, easier… as well as, equip them with the habits to be successful and impact our customers and partners globally. In my past 18 years at Microsoft and prior experiences, I have fueled that passion to help others develop and grow their talent.

Remember that equation, 4000x + 18 = 4.5. I have been working hard to grow the 4000+ Aspirers that are recent university hires (the 4000) for over 18 years (the 18) to help Microsoft grab the 4.5 trillion dollar opportunity we have in this new era of AI. Ohh, and that X? I consider myself an X factor in the success here at Microsoft.
