After studying Automotive Management (Business Management) at Fontys Universities Eindhoven, he started in 2011 as Project Manager / Consultant at FIER. Over the last decade, Rob focused on sustainable road freight logistics. Thanks to the role Rob played in the initiation and management of pilot projects, where zero-emission trucks and charging infrastructure were implemented, a significant amount of relevant experience and knowledge was built, as well as a network within this new sector. Next to the implementation of zero-emission logistics in the pilot projects, like eGLM, ZEBRH, and AZED, Rob has been able to support multiple organizations in their transition towards a zero-emission fleet. The combination of the experience and knowledge of the zero-emission truck market, the implementation within logistic operations as well as the complexity of (the realization of) charging infrastructure, was key for management decisions. On the same topic of ‘sustainable road freight logistics’, Rob has also focused on multiple research and policy analysis projects. He has played an important role in multiple studies like ‘Moving zero-emission freight toward commercialization’, ‘Charging Handbook for Transport Depots’, and Luxembourg’s policy advice study on ‘Energy transition in Luxembourg’s logistic sector - Decarbonising Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicles’. Rob has been able to use his practical experience from the implementation projects with research projects and policy development studies, and vice versa.
