Dr Kirstie Whitaker is a passionate advocate for making science "open for all" by promoting equity and inclusion for people from diverse backgrounds. She leads the Tools, Practices and Systems research programme at The Alan Turing Institute, the UK's National Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Kirstie founded The Turing Way, an openly developed educational resource that enables researchers and citizen scientists across government, industry, academia and third sector organisations to embed open source practices into their work. She is the chair of the Turing Research Ethics Panel, co-lead investigator of the AI for Multiple Long Term Conditions Research Support Facility, co-lead investigator of the AutSPACEs citizen science platform, and co-investigator for the Turing's Data Safe Haven - an open source trusted research environment. Kirstie holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of California at Berkeley, is a Fulbright scholarship alumna, and was a 2016/17 Mozilla Fellow for Science.

I am an accomplished Product Design and Development expert with four years of experience since earning my undergraduate degree. Pursuing a Bachelor's degree at Dedan Kimathi University provided me with a strong foundation in my field, and I have since showcased my proficiency in both digital and electronic product development.

My expertise spans a wide range of areas, including CAD design, manufacturing, electronics design and fabrication, automation, and PCB design and fabrication. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about bridging the gap between concept and realization, whether it's in software or hardware development.

During my tenure at Zingo Connect Ltd, I had the privilege of serving as a skilled Project Manager, leading the development of the zingo ecommerce application. My multifaceted approach to product design allowed me to contribute effectively to the successful completion of the project.
