Brian Munoz

Brian Munoz

Brian Munoz is the Visuals Editor at St. Louis Public Radio.

During his time at STLPR, he has helped shape the station’s digital storytelling initiatives. Those efforts were awarded regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for Digital Excellence and Innovation. In addition, he was named to Current’s inaugural “Rising Stars” — a cohort of young professionals whose ideas and skills are redefining public media.

A passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in journalism, Munoz mentors emerging journalists through STLPR’s visual journalism internship, Teen Photojournalist Prize and the NPR Next Gen Radio project. Through these initiatives, he is dedicated to breaking barriers and providing opportunities for the next generation of storytellers — particularly in underserved communities.

Munoz is a 2019 graduate from Southern Illinois University. When he isn’t diving into a good story, you can find him binging sports, following the marching arts and hunting the next great bite to eat.
