Klar ist - immersives und spielerisches Lernen ist nachhaltiger als jede der vielen anderen Lernformen. Das bestätigen einschlägige wissenschaftliche Studien und Untersuchungen. Aber gilt das auch für komplexe Themen?

Klar ist auch - das “Metaverse” ist gekommen um zu bleiben. Hinter dem Hype des Metaverse, hinter NFT und schillernden VR Events - liegt jedoch die eigentliche Stärke dieser Zukunfts-Technologie in einem ganz anderen - vielmals noch unterschlagenem Bereich - dem des Corporate Learnings. In einer Zeit, in der Lernen zu können und zu wollen zu einer Schlüsselkompetenz wird, und eine Generation Z den Markt tritt, die digital affiner nicht sein könnte, wird es Zeit, auch Corporate Trainings anders zu denken.

Die Frage stellt sich daher:

Kann man nachhaltig im Metaverse lernen und neue Methoden, Soft skills und Technologien adaptieren - ja begreifen, indem man “ins Metaverse” geht. Kann man mit Virtual Reality oder Computer spielen wie Minecraft oder Roblox tatsächlich nachhaltig und motiviert lernen?

An verschiedenen bereits erfolgreich umgesetzten Beispielen möchte ich euch auf eine beeindruckende Immersive Lernreise mitnehmen.

Von Biomen, NPC’s und Monstern - Minecraft in der Hochschullehre

Minecraft ist eines der erfolgreichsten Computerspiele weltweit. Viele Studierende haben eigene Spielerfahrungen, Lehrende kennen das Spiel oft durch ihre Kinder. Das Spiel bietet als Open-World-Spiel nahezu unendliche Möglichkeiten bei der Erkundung von Welten, dem Bau eigener Dinge oder dem Lösen von Aufgaben.

Auch in der Hochschullehre kommt spielerischen Elementen eine immer größere Bedeutung zu. Stichworte wie Serious Games oder Gamification stehen dabei für eine Überbrückung des vermeintlichen Gegensatzes zwischen ernsthafter Lehre und unterhaltsamem Spiel.

Während es bereits viele Anwendungsbeispiele für den Einsatz von Minecraft in der schulischen Ausbildung gibt, wird Minecraft bisher kaum in der Hochschullehre eingesetzt.

Im Rahmen eines Pilotprojektes haben wir uns daher im Wintersemester 2022 an der BSP Business and Law School zusammen mit der Innovtionsagentur Event Punks mit der Frage beschäftigt, wie Minecraft in der Hochschullehre eingesetzt werden kann.

Die dabei gewonnen Erkenntnisse werden in dieser Session gemeinsam von Lehrenden und Studierenden allen Interessierten präsentiert.
