Beto has been writing open-source software for more than 2 decades, with open-source serving as the unifying theme across their diverse career. This includes their work as a climate scientist with a PhD in oceanography running global simulations for the IPCC, as an instructor and speaker at Facebook/Meta passionate about data tools and best practices, as a software engineer working daily on Apache Superset, and as a musician using open hardware and open-source plugins to compose and produce their songs.

The tools and libraries that Beto has created or worked on are used daily by thousands of companies and countless users, focusing on making data access seamless and switching the spotlight to the user experience instead. Their first big project was Pydap, a server for climate data developed during the Google Summer of Code in 2005. Pydap was used by the IPCC to distribute their simulations when they won their 2007 Nobel Prize, and also by the Danish Navy when removing chemical weapons from Syria.

Since 2017, Beto has been working daily on Apache Superset, a modern and modular business intelligence web application that is the number 1 Apache project in terms of GitHub stars. This work has led to the creation of an ecosystem of products: DataJunction, a semantic layer that has been adopted by data teams at Netflix; Shillelagh, a Python library that makes any kind of data easily queryable via SQL; and Cantrip, a magical semantic layer that lives in the database itself, requiring no additional resources. All of these projects focus on empowering users to answer their questions in an effortless way.

Additionally, Beto is also a prolific musician, having written over 500 songs in the past decade. They are an avid participant in the February Writing Album Month challenge, which has the goal of composing 14 new songs in 28 days, and is also part of both the small development team and moderation team. When it comes to speaking, I'm no stranger to the stage. I've stood in front of audiences around the world, delivering over 70 technical talks at international and national conferences, as well as meetups. From India to the USA, Ireland to Nigeria, and even Japan, I've taken the stage physically and virtually, adapting to different formats and keeping the crowd engaged.

I've mentored over 100 hackathons, collaborating with prestigious institutions like John Hopkins School of Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru University, IIT Madras, and Delhi University. From a young age Aditya has been fond of libraries where he used to spend all his time after classes to study science and computer science. He learnt hacking in grade 9th using termux and then went on to continue learning Python and C++ getting a six years of programming experience as of now. Aditya has not only been a climate advocate but an action taker with his projects like the smart drainage system he built in 2022 gaining him massive recognition as a child scientist in NCSC, he presented it as a solution for the 2019 urban flood of Patna. Thereafter, he went on to compete in international Hackathons including Epoch by the HackClub in Delhi and NASA Space Apps by NASA at Mountain View California on full funding. He was part of the class of 2028 at Minerva University, California with their highest scholarship. He was also accepted at TETR College of Business, Dubai - a highly selective business college - with 87% scholarship to study business with Computer Science. Consultant en RSE avec une forte expertise dans les enjeux énergétiques, il aide les PME à structurer et mettre en œuvre des stratégies alignées avec les attentes réglementaires et les exigences du marché.

Son approche couvre les piliers de la RSE – environnement, social et gouvernance –, avec un focus particulier sur l’optimisation de la performance énergétique et la transition vers des modèles plus durables. Il intervient auprès des départements RH, QSE et marketing pour intégrer des pratiques responsables et optimiser leur impact. Il propose des missions stratégiques et opérationnelles, allant de la sensibilisation à la mise en conformité, en passant par l’élaboration de plans d’actions concrets.

En parallèle, Abelaïd partage son savoir en tant que formateur en RSE dans plusieurs écoles de commerce. Il enseigne aussi bien à des étudiants en Bachelor qu’en Master, en mettant un accent particulier sur les enjeux énergétiques et la transition écologique dans le cadre de la RSE.

Engagé dans des projets à impact, il est le fondateur de Tajiri Farm, une initiative qui promeut une agriculture durable grâce à l’intelligence artificielle. Ce projet vise à optimiser les ressources, améliorer les rendements et favoriser des pratiques agricoles responsables en s’appuyant sur les nouvelles technologies.

As the State of Michigan’s Office of Future Mobility and Electrification’s (OFME) mobility innovation associate director, Janine is focused on growing Michigan’s mobility and electrification ecosystem and creating safer, more equitable and environmentally conscious transportation solutions for Michigan residents. Janine leads innovation growth initiatives at OFME including signature grant programs under the Michigan Mobility Funding Platform (MMFP) and state-wide testing assets. In addition to managing MMFP, she facilitates industry collaboration through various working groups convening subject matter experts to identify challenges in the state and develop solutions.

Prior to joining OFME, Janine was an associate director leading the mobility practice at Antenna Group, a leading cleantech communications agency. In this role, Janine focused on strategy development, media relations, and project management across account teams. Janine’s client experience spans product launches, company rebrands, high-profile public and private partnerships, market entries and crisis management. Her areas of expertise include advanced transportation infrastructure, autonomous vehicles, battery technology and growth-focused programs including incubators and accelerators.

Additionally, Janine previously led the overall b2b and b2c marketing communications strategy for Shift Transit, a mobility operations startup focusing on first/last-mile micromobiltiy solutions. Janine has also held multiple positions at leading automotive b2b publication, Automotive News including integrated marketing manager and conference specialist. While at Automotive News Janine planned and executed large-scale conferences and events for industry executives as well as integrated marketing campaigns and custom content for industry partners. In 2019, Janine was honored with the Automotive News Tony Merpi Award for Leadership & Innovation for her efforts in streamlining cross-functional processes.
