Maria graduated in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology at Politecnico di Milano in 2023. During her studies she had the opportunity to work at University of Stuttgart, where she carried out her master thesis regarding the removal of heavy metals from wastewater by exploiting the action of microalgae.
