Dr. Mahbubul Alam is a Chief Research Scientist at Hitachi America’s Industrial AI Lab, where he translates complex business challenges into deployable, real-world AI solutions. He brings sixteen years of academic and industry experience in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision, with particular emphasis on industrial visual inspection, predictive maintenance, and automation.

He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Old Dominion University, where his doctoral research introduced novel deep learning methods for solving challenging computer vision problems. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Jahangirnagar University, graduating with the highest academic distinction and receiving the University Gold Medal.

Dr. Alam has more than four thousand Google Scholar citations, is a Marquis Who’s Who Honored Listee for 2025, and serves as a reviewer for leading IEEE journals. His work bridges AI theory with scalable industrial applications.

Dr. Ellie Ebrahimi is an associate professor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She earned her Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing from Clemson University in 2017, following her M.Sc. in Mechatronics Engineering from K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Iran, and her B.Sc. in Robotics Engineering from Shahrood University of Technology, Iran.

Dr. Ebrahimi's career is dedicated to finding innovative ways to adapt and improve ideas and theories to enhance STEM and cybersecurity education and workforce development, address mental health challenges in adolescents primarily due to cyberbullying, and support language learning in multilingual children. Creating my first database at the age of 15, on a ZX Spectrum :-), and being in the BI/data business professionally as of 1998, I've delivered a lot of succesful solutions in various domains and various technologies, from designing the data lake(house)/data warehouse/database with ETL procedures till building the reporting environment on top of this data warehouse, database or cube.
I've been trained by Ralph Kimball and Dan Linstedt (Certified Data Vault 2.0 Practitioner (CDVP2)). Also had the pleasure of dining with Bill Inmon (yes, I know the reason for the issues with Ralph).
