Rene currently serves as Principal Architect at Expedia Group's Data and AI organization. Previously, he served as Chief Architect at Vrbo in the vacation rental space, recommending best practices, coding POCs to production, and helping architect the underlying infrastructure powering Vrbo’s Data Platform. He also has served a portion of his time making cloud engineering recommendations. Before Vrbo, he served on the developer’s council at eBay, and worked as a Staff Engineer for eBay Motors. Rene lives in Austin, TX and is an MIT Alumnus.

Matt Kleiman is passionate about transforming the way the world builds software. Matt struggled with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and other learning disabilities during his first 8 years in the tech industry. His first two years as a developer at Pivotal Labs NY provided him with such relief from his struggles that he was able to grow in ways he never even imagined. Today Matt is not only a software engineer and consultant, but he is also a manager at Pivotal Labs’ DC office, where he helps others craft their own career journeys.

Matt loves traveling. In 2018 he flew over 100,000 miles in 7 different countries. He and his wife are always looking for cheap flight deals they can turn into great vacations. So who am I? Professionally I'm currently working as a DevOps Engineer, in a former life I was a Developer and sometimes a Scrum Master. At one time I thought I had an allergy to DevOps, but once I understood the goals, I saw the light and have become a convert and an evangelist.

Outside of that, I'm a husband, father, fisherman, and hunter. I love to get outdoors with my family. I'm also a bit of a lifehacker and a biohacker trying to squeeze as much out of life as I can. I'm a Pluralsight junkie which just plays into my voracious appetite for knowledge. The thing I always need to work on though is putting my learnings to use, but hey everybody needs a hobby.
