Seasoned UI/UX Designer | Digital Experience Architect | Educator

With over three years of experience in UI/UX design, I specialize in creating user-centered solutions that merge functionality with aesthetics. From my early beginnings as a freelance designer to my current role as a lead UI/UX Designer at TASAfrica, I have helped businesses craft intuitive, user-driven experiences that resonate.

Previously, I worked as a UI/UX Engineer at Lights on Heights, where I spearheaded impactful projects like the My Limestone App redesign, enhancing features such as offline check-in and geolocation-enabled panic alerts. My expertise lives across design systems, usability testing, and crafting scalable solutions for web and mobile platforms.

Passionate about sharing knowledge, I've tutored over 50 aspiring designers within 25 different African countries, helping them launch careers in tech. Beyond work, I attend tech events and webinars, most recently speaking at Tech1M's webinar, "Creating Memorable Experiences through User-Centric Designs."

I believe design is more than visuals, it's about solving problems, crafting memorable experiences, and connecting people. When I’m not designing, you’ll find me learning German, playing call of duty mobile or brainstorming ideas to give back to the community through tech education.

I work as a director in the Value & Solution Engineering group for BMC Intelligent Z Optimization and Transformation. My team of Solution Engineers works with clients all over the world helping them realize their Developer Experience dreams, which feeds right into maximizing their ability to contribute to DevOps, connecting the mainframe to the cloud in a unique and powerful way to enable more access to analytics, and overall a more agile mainframe experience. There is nothing more exciting than to have a client jump up and realize that they are not hindered by the platform, it is the assumptions about the platform that hold them back. Many people have stated that, after starting a DevOps journey, that they actually build and deploy code faster than their distributed partners, which is awesome to hear!

In my spare time, I have 4 adult children and a wife who is an accomplished stage and technical director. Between ballet, stage, and music, much of our time is taken up by the arts, but my wife and I have taken up off-roading in our lifted Jeep, so we can get away from it all and climb over big rocks, just because they are there. My technical passions outside of mainframe DevOps and cloud center around AI and Virtual Reality, because I see a revolution coming in how we build, consume, and leverage the digital world.

'The world can be an overwhelming place, so I help people connect with experiences and brands by telling stories as a UI/UX and product designer. ‘

Hello, I am Gauri, currently based in Southampton, UK. I love seeing my designs come to life and helping users accomplish their goals. My knowledge of design principles, the software has always proven to be an upside for my projects. I believe in creating designs that are intuitive, accessible, transparent, and user friendly. I also believe in watching the same old movies again. Other than designing I love to talk about philosophy, sketch, cook, and hike. I also mentor young students from Myanmar just trying to figure out how I can help in someone else's journey.

My passion for design has taken the front forth in my life since I was 16. I taught myself through YouTube, numerous internships and just by following other designers. After 5 years, I moved to the UK to learn in a formal way about the world of UX with huge loan and pressure of paying it back, but all that paid off as I completed my masters with a distinction and paid off my student loan.

I bring both a research perspective and a creative problem-solving approach to developing the products that people love to use. I can tackle roadblocks, work in a multi-disciplinary team and combine innovative HCI and research principles. My knowledge of design thinking, 4-5 years of experience working with human centric products, proficiency in design and passion for accessibility, usability, user psychology, mobile specific products will allow me to play a valuable role in the implementation of design initiatives.

Loren Sheets

Loren Sheets

Loren Sheets, a Milwaukee-based musician, has become a fixture in the local music scene. His early exposure to music came from attending numerous festivals and community events with his family, who, though not musical themselves, enjoyed the vibrant local music culture. This early immersion sparked his lifelong passion for music.

In school, Loren was an attentive student, particularly interested in literature and history. He enriched his formal education with extracurricular involvement in the school choir and band, where he learned the fundamentals of music. However, his most significant musical education came from countless hours spent studying music theory and songwriting at the local library and from watching videos and listening to records that introduced him to various musical styles and genres.

Loren's musical journey took a significant leap when he discovered a guitar at a garage sale. Without any formal training, he taught himself to play, dedicating many hours to practicing chords and crafting melodies. His skill development led him to explore folk and blues, genres that value lyrical storytelling, which deeply resonated with him and influenced his songwriting.

As his confidence grew, Loren began performing publicly at small local venues such as cafes and community events, where he connected deeply with his audience. These performances were pivotal, helping him appreciate the raw, unfiltered interaction that live music fosters. He also enjoyed the collaborative aspect, learning from and creating new sounds with other local musicians.

His engagement with the music scene deepened as he began writing his music, drawing inspiration from his surroundings and the people of Milwaukee. His unique style gradually garnered a loyal following. After years of live performances, he decided to record his music, choosing a local studio that respected his vision, thereby capturing his live essence for a broader audience.

Loren also took on a more active role in mentoring young musicians and organizing music events to provide a platform for emerging artists. His initiatives aimed to make music more accessible and to support the local music community, earning him considerable respect within Milwaukee.

His debut album marked a significant milestone, receiving acclaim for its blend of folk, blues, and rock. Loren's performances are now integral to Milwaukee's music festivals and concerts, often supporting local charities and community efforts. His music also receives regular airplay on local radio, helping to expand his reach.

Today, he remains passionately involved in music, continuously working on new material and exploring ways to distribute it, from live performances to recordings. He embraces digital platforms to extend his reach but maintains a solid commitment to the personal touch of live shows.

Beyond music, Loren has a profound appreciation for the visual arts and literature. He frequently visits galleries and reads extensively, mainly classic literature and poetry, which he feels enhances his lyrical abilities. Through these artistic endeavors, Loren Sheets continues to enrich his community and share his musical journey.
