Norman Badger has dedicated more than thirty years to building a career with Publix, the employee-owned grocery company in the United States. His professional journey reflects a commitment to steady growth and a focus on leadership. From his early days working in hourly positions to advancing into senior leadership, he has consistently shown dedication to his work and the people around him. Today, he serves as Senior Vice President of Retail Operations, where he oversees the company’s stores and ensures that operational and service standards are maintained across the retail network.

Publix operates more than 1,400 stores in eight southeastern states, with the majority located in Florida, as well as in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. His career with the company began in 1995 as a front-service clerk in Aiken, South Carolina. After holding several hourly roles, he became a store manager in 2007, where he was responsible for budgets, staffing, customer service, and merchandising. In 2014, he was promoted to District Manager, overseeing multiple stores, guiding managers, and ensuring company policies were followed. By 2017, he was named Regional Director, where he managed several districts and focused on long-term planning, growth, and leadership development.

In 2024, he was promoted again to Senior Vice President of Retail Operations, where he continues to oversee store operations across all regions. His leadership encompasses supporting teams, driving operational consistency, and contributing to the company's long-term direction. He was born in Jacksonville, FL, and married his high school sweetheart in 2001. They have a son and have lived in several cities, including Atlanta, Charleston, and Raleigh, before moving back to Florida. Family is an integral part of his life, and they enjoy traveling and spending time together. Sports are another meaningful part of his personal life. He and his son are fans of the Steelers and Penn State, and they attend games every season as part of a tradition that strengthens their bond. Anais Amin is a Los Angeles-based professional excelling in journalism, marketing, and community activism. She earned a Master's in Journalism from Columbia University and has since used her expertise to advocate for social justice and drive meaningful change.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Anais attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for her undergraduate studies and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English. While at UCLA, she served as one of the fourteen elected council members, representing over 30,000 undergraduates. Her tenure in student government focused on advocating for social justice, improving access to higher education, and enhancing mental health services for veterans. Before joining Marketplace, she gained valuable experience at KPFK Radio 90.7 FM from 2017 to 2019, where she produced educational radio segments on various social, political, and scientific topics.

Anais is a fashion manufacturer's marketing and brand manager, overseeing multimillion-dollar accounts and spearheading innovative marketing campaigns. Her earlier experiences include being an executive assistant at a dental lab and a PR and marketing intern at The Borgen Project, where she promoted global poverty reduction initiatives.

FRANK ABE is co-editor with Floyd Cheung of a new anthology, THE LITERATURE OF JAPANESE AMERICAN INCARCERATION, (Penguin Classics). He is lead author of a graphic novel, WE HEREBY REFUSE: Japanese American Resistance to Wartime Incarceration (Chin Music Press), and with collaborators Tamiko Nimura, Ross Ishikawa, and Matt Sasaki was named a Finalist in Creative Nonfiction for the Washington State Book Award. He won an American Book Award with Cheung and Greg Robinson as co-editor of JOHN OKADA: The Life & Rediscovered Work of the Author of No-No Boy (University of Washington Press), in which he authored the first-ever biography of Okada and traced the origins of his novel. He is currently developing a new stage adaptation of NO-NO BOY in partnership with Seattle Rep.

Abe wrote, produced, and directed the award-winning PBS documentary CONSCIENCE AND THE CONSTITUTION on the largest organized resistance in the camps, and with writer Frank Chin helped organize the first-ever “Day of Remembrance” in Seattle in 1978. Ricardo Amaro has a Ph.D. in Science and Technology and is a Senior Platform Engineering Manager at Acquia Inc., a company based in Boston, USA, where he focuses on large-scale software delivery performance. In Portugal, he is president of the Drupal Portugal Association, Localization lead and a Researcher in DevOps and AI at INESC/INOV.
With a diversified career in both the public and private sectors in Portugal, he promotes Agile techniques and the DevOps culture.
