The future is Carina Stöttner’s daily work as a sociologist, entrepreneur, and speaker. A strong curiosity and a view of the bigger picture have shaped her life from an early age. After studying communication science and sociology, she devoted herself early on to interdisciplinary questions about the future. Years before the launch of ChatGPT, she conducted interviews with chatbots for her master’s thesis, exploring how artificial intelligence could transform communication and society.

At 27, she founded a futures think tank, where she developed future scenarios together with her team. At 31, she launched her second company: Futurewise Company, a strategic futures advisory. Today, she advises boards, managing directors, and decision-makers on identifying new global growth fields, making more informed long-term decisions, and creating a shared vision of the future for companies, organizations, and regions.

Her research focuses range from the future of industry and artificial intelligence to emerging customer needs. He also volunteers as lead engineer at Sunflower City, a nonprofit environmental organization focused on proving out nature-based solutions to flooding issues, where he is responsible for sensor network hardware and measurement instrumentation. He was previously a professor in the Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering department at the University of Minnesota, co-director of that department’s Instrumentation and Robotics Group, and lead designer of the department’s makerspace. His graduate and postdoctoral work focused on creating instrumentation for both the Bioacoustics Research Program and the Soil and Water Lab at Cornell University. He has consistently demonstrated excellence in enterprise architecture, distributed systems, cloud-native solutions, and AI-driven modernization initiatives. His technical expertise spans Java, .NET, AWS, distributed systems, automation, and the integration of AI agents, chatbots, and developer productivity tools into complex enterprise workflows.
Venkat is recognized for building and mentoring high-performing engineering teams, leading agile delivery at scale, and collaborating cross-functionally with product, security, and executive leadership. His work has resulted in significant AWS cost reductions, multiple quality recognitions, and the successful modernization of legacy systems into resilient, future-ready platforms.
