William Timlen

William Timlen

William Timlen, CPA, has three decades of experience in tax, accounting, and management. He focuses on partnership taxation and passive activity loss rules, with solid experience in profit-and-loss allocations and distributions. He advises borrowers on the tax implications of debt restructurings and distressed real estate transactions, including foreclosures, deeds-in-lieu, and bankruptcy. He also works with real estate owners and developers on tax planning. He provides advisory support to high-net-worth individuals and families, including guidance during complex federal and state tax examinations.

He joined a New York-based firm in 2016 as a Tax Partner in its Real Estate Group, part of a top-15 international tax advisory firm. Over the past 10 years, William has generated more than $2 million in new business, including $1 million in 2018, while working with major participants in the NYC real estate market. He strengthened the group by recruiting experienced professionals across tax and audit practices. As a member of the leadership committee, he helps guide the real estate practice's direction, including thought leadership, business development, education, and branding. He is also a member of a national accounting organization.

He began his career in 1993 at a CPA firm in Princeton, New Jersey, where he worked for four years. He prepared tax workpapers and federal and state tax returns for partnerships, individuals, corporations, and trusts. He also reviewed financial statements, researched tax matters, and supported client communication. In 1998, Timlen joined a global firm as a Supervising Senior, where he prepared audit workpapers for Fortune 100 companies in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.

He later founded his own accounting firm in Princeton, New Jersey, focusing on tax consulting for high-net-worth individuals, real estate partnerships, and corporations. Within the first three years, he built a business generating more than $600K annually. After 10 years, he joined a New York firm as a Tax Manager, where he reviewed complex returns, advised on like-kind exchanges, and represented clients before tax authorities. William then served for seven years as a Tax Principal at another firm, managing client relationships, leading engagements, and supporting business development and operational improvements.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from a college in Rhode Island, where he played Division 1 baseball for four years. He attended high school in New Jersey and was an All-State baseball player for two years.

William Timlen was born and raised in New Jersey and lives in New Canaan, Connecticut, with his family. He is married and has two sons in college. His background in business strategy, education, and technology enables him to evaluate investments with a balanced, careful perspective.

I lead cloud and AI projects across Central America and the Caribbean, helping organizations in financial services, logistics, and retail turn business challenges into secure, scalable architectures on AWS. My work spans the full journey — from understanding business requirements to designing infrastructure, security, and AI governance strategies that actually make it to production.

I've spoken at Banking Summit Panama 2025, AgentCon Panama, AWS Community Day Panama across multiple editions, and regional technology events in Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, and Trinidad & Tobago — always focused on how security, governance, and data strategy are the foundation that makes AI solutions production-ready, not just demo-ready.

Building AI agents for regulated industries taught me that the hard part isn't making them smart — it's making them safe. That's the perspective I bring to this talk.

Michael Renna

Michael Renna is an enterprise technology and Lean-Agile transformation leader with years of experience leading technology delivery in Fortune 500 environments. He helps executives and delivery organizations connect strategy, product, architecture, governance, and team execution so work moves from intent to measurable business outcomes.

His work sits at the intersection of Lean-Agile transformation, technology leadership, and practical AI adoption. Michael focuses on the operating systems behind successful change: value streams, portfolio flow, decision rights, delivery governance, metrics, and the leadership behaviors needed to improve performance at scale.

As a speaker, Michael brings a practical, executive-ready perspective shaped by real-world delivery constraints — not theory, hype, or ceremony for its own sake. His sessions help leaders see where transformation efforts stall, how to improve flow across complex organizations, and how to use AI as part of a disciplined operating model rather than another disconnected initiative.

Jalal Abdallah

Jalal Abdallah

Jalal Abdallah has built three businesses. He runs one of them today, and closing the other two was as deliberate a decision as starting them.

An attorney based in Dearborn, Michigan, Jalal graduated from Fordson High School, earned a history degree at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and completed his law degree at Cooley Law School in 2018. He passed the bar exam in 2020. In 2021, rather than take a position at an established firm, he founded his own practice, focused exclusively on personal injury law.

He did not stop there. Alongside the firm, Jalal opened, owned, and operated an insurance agency and a title insurance agency handling real estate closings. He describes himself plainly as someone who loves being an entrepreneur, and the appeal is the challenge and independence that come with building something from nothing.

The harder call came later. As his law practice grew and his political career took shape, Jalal recognized that running three businesses meant giving none of them everything they needed. He closed the insurance and title agencies so he could focus completely on his firm and on serving his community through public office. Knowing what to stop is a form of leadership that gets discussed less often than knowing what to start.

That focus has produced results. Jalal won the Democratic primary for Michigan House, District 15, an achievement he places alongside passing the bar exam and launching his practice as the ones that mean the most to him. He is also currently pursuing an MBA, driven by a conviction that leadership, whether in a courtroom, a company, or public office, requires ongoing learning rather than a fixed set of skills.

His approach to clients follows the same logic as his approach to business. Personal injury clients are dealing with real disruption to their lives, and Jalal built his practice so he could work with them directly rather than at a distance.

Jalal has been married to his wife, Leila, for nearly five years. Outside the office, his time belongs to family. He is a lifelong history enthusiast, a follower of sports and sports history, a dedicated film buff, and a regular at concerts and music festivals.

The pattern across all of it is consistent: build carefully, commit fully, and stay accountable to the people relying on you.
