After graduating high school, LaShae attended San Diego State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Africana Studies, a Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Multicultural Counseling, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in higher education.

LaShae is currently the Community Engagement Specialist for the San Diego County Office
of Education and a Professor in the Department of Africana Studies at San Diego State
University. She is the former District Director for the former California State
Assemblymember now California Secretary of State, Dr. Shirey N. Weber. In her work as a
public servant, LaShae worked with various community leaders to create a positive strong
