These visits deepened his interest in military aviation. While interning at Ball Aerospace in 2021, Jonathan passed his private pilot check ride and earned his instrument rating by late 2023.

Sophie Kempston (she/they) is a current PhD candidate in the School for Cross-Faculty Studies at the University of Warwick. Her research focuses on measuring the sustainability impacts of the increase of demand for critical raw materials as a result of the UK's increasing demand for electric vehicles. This includes forecasting scenarios for electric vehicle uptake and battery market shares in the UK, and developing a framework to assess the holistic sustainability impacts of these scenarios.
