Please no messages regarding: paid courses, financial advising (I have a great advisor), or any aggressive pitches. Additionally, I am unable to refer nor negotiate vendors for any of my employers. Okay, now for the good parts:

Since I unboxed my first computer at the age of 10, I have been fascinated with technology. My curiosity and constant desire to grow have led me to places from Milwaukee to Silicon Valley, serving organizations ranging from emerging startups to the Fortune 100.

My adventures have focused on full stack development, but have recently taken a turn towards technical architecture and management. My skills have often been used in projects relating to modernization efforts, helping organizations move their products to modern technologies. In addition, I have a love for servant leadership and guiding teams and the individuals on them towards success. In 2021, my dreams of becoming a manager were realized when I joined the team at Northwestern Mutual as a Software Engineering Manager, spending half of my time on front-end architecture and development in React and the other half coaching and mentoring software engineers with both hard and soft skills.

My current technology stack includes JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Gatsby, and HTML5/CSS3/SASS on the front-end. On the back-end, I focus on Node.js with Express but also have experience with PHP and Python. For databases, I use MySQL, SQLite, GraphQL, and Neo4j. In hybrid roles, I have served as a team’s Certified ScrumMaster. I have implemented CI/CD using SonarQube, Drone, GitLab, GitHub, and GoCD.

In addition, I have an interest in the Cloud, creating solutions that suit organization standards and application needs. This involves working in Linux environments, scripting, and knowledge of Google Cloud Platform.

Outside of work, I am a Lead Instructor at Old Dominion University and the University of Wisconsin in their full stack certificate programs and I also advise others aspiring to enter technical careers. I am also in the Master's Degree in Software Engineering program at Harvard University's Extension School. My outside interests include wearable tech, hardware tinkering, 3D printing, VR, food, and reading. I am a proud geek, gamer, and technology enthusiast.

Opinions I share are mine, not of any organization. Sharing is not equal to endorsement.
