After finishing high school, I jumped into a two-year SOLICODE bootcamp partnered with Simplon, where I learned web and mobile development. Besides coding, I was actively involved in various initiatives that greatly influenced my career.

One of my main contributions was organizing the first and second editions of SOLIHACKATHON. Additionally, I played an active role in our school club, leading robotics and programming workshops for kids using robots and Scratch.

Later, I joined Simplon Maghreb and focused on deploying social projects. I led workshops for over 1000 kids facing difficult situations across Morocco, aiming to involve them in the tech revolution.

Justin Paluku is an IT Specialist and currently taking the MIT MacroMasters Data science course. Justin was born in May 1991, in Butembo, eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo where he was forced to flee to Uganda in 2012 looking for safety.

To support refugee and low income communities to access quality education and advanced technology in Africa, Justin has founded an organisation named Up With Africa based in Uganda.

About his work engagement, Justin has worked as a Research Enumerator with the University of Oxford - Refugee Study Center on a Refugee Economy Study in Uganda in 2018, where he successfully conducted interviews with 123 adult refugees from different slums and households.

Justin has also worked on many projects with the University of Toronto (for 6 years) in Uganda such as: refugees reproductive health, stress management and Virtual Reality as an mental health intervention, managing communication from online systems to refugees' WhatsApp massaging as part of the study.

As a Naval Supply Corps Officer, Kimberly spent majority of her career in Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) where she served as a Supply Officer onboard a guided-missile cruiser, honing her leadership abilities and passion for improving operational processes, particularly in supply chain logistics. Upon completing her studies at the Naval Postgraduate School, Kimberly applied her technical acumen at the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) in Pearl Harbor, where her leadership as the Wholesale Production Director and later as the Wholesale Deputy Director resulted in significant advancements in the center’s ability to provide strategic supply support to operational units around the globe. Her data-driven initiatives helped the command exceed critical performance metrics, ultimately earning her the prestigious title of DLA’s Company Grade Officer of the Year in 2018.

Kimberly's unwavering commitment to excellence was further exemplified when, as a result of her leadership, the DLA Distribution Center received the Maj. Gen. Kenneth L. Privratsky Award for Distribution Center Excellence in 2019. Her dedication to people and culture within the organization was recognized in 2020 when she received the Maj. Gen. Michael J. Lally III DLA Distribution Excellence in People and Culture Award.

Kimberly is currently serving as a Principal Analyst at ITA International, a company on the cutting edge of Technology-Enabled Professional Services (TEPS), where she continues to leverage her extensive experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this role, she utilizes her Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certifications to guide cross-functional teams in developing and executing innovating solutions for the government.

With a diverse educational background and a wealth of experience, Kimberly excels at bridging the gap between technical teams and stakeholders. She believes in the importance of effective communication, asserting that conveying analysis findings is as crucial as conducting the analyses themselves. Kim Faks (pronouns: she/her) grew up in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon. Kim attended Oregon State University and received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. Upon completing her degree, Kim worked as an Advertising and Marketing manager at a technology furniture company with national and international sales. After a decade of working in B2B and B2C manufacturing and sales, she transitioned to a role in school administration for a private, PreK-12th grade school supporting students in lower socio-economic, first gen, religious, and cultural identities.
