James Wambua

James Wambua

James Mumo Wambua is a financial educator and the founder of Auctoritas Agency, which positions financial-sector leaders across East Africa.

He trained in actuarial science and spent his early career at KCB Bank Group, East Africa's largest bank by assets, working across microfinance and Sharia-compliant retail banking. He now publishes as @mumo_mumo_ to roughly 145,000 African professionals on YouTube and TikTok, covering crypto regulation, stablecoin adoption, and capital formation for African markets. AI governance should not be an end in itself. The objective is to help enterprises use AI to deliver business outcomes leaders can trust and stand behind.

As Chief AI Governance Officer at iTmethods, I set direction for our product and service strategy for governed AI. I work with customers, partners, and teams across product, engineering, and delivery to translate business objectives, risk, and regulatory requirements into practical controls, evidence, and operating models.
The market has no shortage of AI governance frameworks, security controls, guardrails, and development tooling. Each has a role, but none is the ultimate measure of success. What ultimately matters is whether leaders can answer five questions about AI-enabled work:

1. Was the action properly authorized?
2. Did the required safeguards operate as intended?
3. Was the intended business outcome achieved?
4. What material exceptions or residual risk remain?
5. Can the organization prove what happened?

My focus is helping enterprises put consequential AI-enabled work into operation with clear authority, appropriate safeguards, and evidence to help ensure the intended business outcomes are achieved.

A CPA, CA and CISA, my background spans Big Four advisory, operational leadership in regulated enterprises, internal audit and risk, and deep technology. I have advised boards and senior leaders, served as a Chief Audit Executive, carried operational accountability in complex environments, led the development and delivery of consequential technology systems, and built products, services, partnerships, and go-to-market strategies.

Most recently, at Ocient, I established and led the company’s Partnerships and Alliances program, working with technology partners, industry stakeholders, and strategic customer opportunities.

At KX, I built and scaled the IoT and Utilities business to 36% of corporate revenue.

At Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator, I served as Chief Audit Executive and led the Smart Metering Entity, which supported 70 utilities serving five million customers and processed more than 100 million transactions daily.

I welcome conversations with business, technology, AI, risk, audit, and security leaders working to turn AI investment into measurable business outcomes, with the safeguards, accountability, and evidence needed to stand behind the result.

Morgan Anthony Bourque

Morgan Anthony Bourque

Morgan Anthony Bourque grew up in The Woodlands, Texas, in a community that valued responsibility and practical solutions. Those early influences shaped his path as he earned a Bachelor of Science from Baylor University, where he also studied communication and speech. He went on to attend Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law and then South Texas College of Law, where he developed a strong interest in courtroom work through Mock Trial and Moot Court, earning championships.

During law school, Morgan learned to explain complex issues in clear terms, think critically in challenging moments, and communicate effectively with juries. Before starting his own practice, he gained experience across different parts of the justice system. He interned at the United States Attorney’s Office, Department of Justice, Southern District of Texas, as well as the district attorney’s offices in Harris County and Montgomery County. These roles gave him an inside view of how investigations begin, how plea decisions are made, and how trial preparation unfolds behind the scenes. He treated each experience as practical training, studying how cases are built and how assumptions or errors can be challenged.

After returning to The Woodlands, he began practicing law with his father, whose long-standing experience helped shape the firm’s approach. Their practice covers criminal defense, DWI defense, family law, and personal injury matters involving serious injuries or wrongful death. He handles each case as if it may go to trial, which has contributed to securing more not guilty verdicts in criminal and DWI cases in Montgomery County since 2019 than any other attorney. In family and injury cases, he focuses on how evidence was gathered and how an event changed a person’s medical, financial, and social life.

His method with clients is structured and transparent. He begins by discussing the problem and the client’s goals, then develops a step-by-step plan that may include gathering documents, preparing witnesses, consulting experts, and establishing a timetable. He maintains consistent communication and avoids drama in court, relying on clarity and thorough preparation to ensure a smooth process. He also conducts practice sessions to help clients stay calm and confident when testifying.

Living and working in The Woodlands influences how he approaches every case, and clients have direct access to him throughout the process. He encourages anyone facing legal trouble to seek help early so that the evidence can be preserved and a strategy can be developed promptly. With a focus on preparation and steady communication, Morgan Anthony Bourque continues to guide clients toward informed decisions about their future.

Her practice includes representation in divorce, custody, child support, prenuptial agreements, post-divorce enforcement matters, and family offenses. She handles both trial and appellate matters and has developed particular experience in parental alienation cases. After completing law school in 2024, she passed the New York bar exam and was admitted to practice by the Appellate Division: Fourth Department, in January 2025.

In her daily work, Erin represents individuals and families facing legal disputes that often carry emotional and financial impact. Matrimonial and family law requires careful preparation, attention to detail, and a clear understanding of both statutory and case law. Her involvement in trial proceedings allows her to present evidence and arguments before the court, while her appellate experience focuses on reviewing legal errors and drafting persuasive briefs. Through this combination, she works to ensure that her clients’ positions are clearly and effectively presented at every stage of litigation.

Attorney Erin Welsh, Buffalo, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Middle East Studies from Syracuse University. She attended on a full-tuition merit scholarship through the Coronat Scholar Program, which supports students who demonstrate leadership and a commitment to serving others. During her undergraduate years, she was also selected as a Remembrance Scholar, one of the institution’s highest honors recognizing academic excellence and community involvement. In addition, she completed the Renee Crown University Honors Program, which emphasizes interdisciplinary study, communication, and civic engagement.

After graduating from Syracuse University, she continued her academic work at Trinity College Dublin, earning a Master of Philosophy in Sociology with first-class honors. While pursuing her graduate degree, she authored and published a peer-reviewed article titled “Assessing Microfinance as a Means of Socioeconomic Empowerment for Vulnerable Women in Jordan.” Her research examined how financial programs can influence economic stability and opportunity for women in underserved communities. This work reflected her broader interest in how legal and social structures affect access to resources and individual advancement.

Erin then attended the University at Buffalo School of Law to complete her legal education. During law school, she served on the Buffalo Law Review, contributing to the editing and publication of scholarly legal articles. She received the Robert J. Connelly Trial Technique Award in recognition of her courtroom performance and practical advocacy skills. She was also named a James Kent Scholar and served as a Property Fellow, assisting with academic instruction in foundational legal subjects.

Her practical training included internships at the Erie County District Attorney’s Office and in the Attorneys for Children Unit at the Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo. These experiences provided exposure to both prosecution work and child advocacy within the legal system. Erin Welsh also participated as a New York State Bar Association Family Law Section Fellow, further strengthening her focus on family law practice.
