Bijan 😎

Bijan is Veterans Affairs Canada's Power BI Champion (and also an Analytics Lead and Power BI Architect on his own time) who believes data isn’t just the new oil—it’s the new gossip, and he’s here to help you spill the tea 🍵. With a career spent building scalable data solutions across the public and private sectors, Bijan specializes in integrating Power BI with Azure DevOps and the Power Platform, making sure your BI ecosystem is as organized as a well-maintained star schema.

Known for his engaging (and occasionally punny) approach, Bijan will have you thinking about your data models like they’re Shakespearean plays—full of relationships, some cross-filtering drama, and the occasional circular reference tragedy 🗡. He’s passionate about turning data chaos into order, and if he could, he’d marry a well-crafted DAX formula (yes, he's single).

When he’s not teaching others how to build balanced BI ecosystems, you can find him chasing down errant joins or debating whether “self-service BI” is just a fancy way of saying “everyone’s now a data analyst.” Spoiler alert: It is. 🙄

Having experienced sexual assault, she has transformed her lived experience into a powerful force for advocacy and reform, particularly for marginalized communities. Her journey—from survivor to leader—has been defined by resilience, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to creating systems that empower, uplift, and protect those in need.

Today, Christina serves as Chief Executive of External Relations for BWJP, a national nonprofit at the forefront of systemic reform in the criminal and civil justice systems for survivors of gender-based violence. Her leadership has been pivotal, transforming BWJP’s reach and impact through strategic partnerships, innovative communications, and an astounding 1500% increase in funding, including numerous six- and seven-figure foundation grants. Christina’s work at BWJP is deeply informed by her personal journey, and she uses her voice and experience to amplify the needs of survivors across the country.

Before joining BWJP, Christina’s unique background shaped her career in criminal justice. As a former prosecutor focused on sexual violence cases, she connected with survivors on a personal level, understanding both their pain and resilience. In her roles at the DC Office of the Attorney General (OAG), she implemented impactful youth policies and programs, including the DC Teen Dating Violence Summit, which empowered youth to navigate issues of consent and safety. Earlier, as Assistant Chief for the Criminal and Juvenile Section, she supervised attorneys, shaped criminal justice policy, and co-developed the Special Victims Unit, becoming an advocate within a system she aimed to reform from the inside out.

Christina’s commitment to change goes beyond legal advocacy. She is a passionate mentor and advocate for Emerging Leaders, fostering the next generation of changemakers. She has led training sessions for large audiences, designed federal and private-sector workshops, and developed dynamic programs that help leaders connect, support, and amplify their voices. Her workshops have empowered Emerging Leaders across various industries, equipping them with tools to navigate complex challenges, champion innovation, and make meaningful contributions. Christina’s dedication to mentoring young professionals is evident in the countless leaders who now carry forward her teachings of justice, resilience, and purpose.

In addition to her role at BWJP, Christina is the founder and CEO of Command Joy Co. LLC, a consulting firm dedicated to sexual assault prevention, sexual harassment training, and safety within faith-based organizations. Through Command Joy Co., Christina has extended her advocacy into faith communities, helping congregations create safer environments. In 2024, her “Breaking Silence: Black Women, Sexual Assault, and the Church” conversation series reached over 4,500 people, sparking vital discussions on safety, healing, and justice.

Christina’s expertise and voice have also resonated through media, with her insights featured in Time Magazine, Sirius XM Urban Radio, CBS Radio, Yahoo News, and numerous legal journals.
