Founder of API Shield Africa, an initiative dedicated to advancing API security, AI governance, and digital trust across Africa, and the Chief Executive Officer of GovernLock, a cybersecurity and governance consultancy that helps organizations build secure, compliant, and resilient digital environments.

My work focuses on one of the fastest-evolving areas of cybersecurity: protecting cloud-native applications, APIs, and AI-powered systems as organizations accelerate digital transformation. By combining technical security with governance and risk management, he helps organizations address today's cyber threats while preparing for the security challenges emerging from autonomous AI systems.

My expertise spans API Security, Cloud Security, AI Governance, Information Security Management, Privacy Governance, and Enterprise Risk Management. I have supported organizations in implementing internationally recognized frameworks, including ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701 and ISO/IEC 42001, translating complex standards into practical security strategies that engineering and leadership teams can implement.

As Founder of API Shield Africa, building a platform that brings together security professionals, technology leaders, policymakers, and developers to strengthen API security and digital trust across the continent. Through research, industry engagement, and knowledge sharing, he advocates for secure innovation that enables governments and businesses to embrace AI and cloud technologies responsibly.

My conference presentations are known for combining strategic insight with practical implementation. Rather than focusing solely on theory, i draws on real-world scenarios, emerging attack patterns, and lessons learned from cloud security, governance, and API ecosystems to provide attendees with practical guidance they can apply immediately.

For CloudCon Sydney, I offers a distinctive global perspective. While many discussions on AI and API security are shaped by experiences in North America and Europe, i brings insights from one of the world's fastest-growing digital economies, where cloud adoption, financial technology, digital identity, and AI innovation are expanding rapidly. This perspective highlights challenges and opportunities that are increasingly relevant to organizations worldwide.

Attendees can expect an engaging, technically grounded session that bridges cloud architecture, API security, AI governance, and Zero Trust principles. They will leave with practical frameworks, implementation strategies, and a clearer understanding of how to secure autonomous AI agents as they become integral to modern enterprise systems.

Morgan Anthony Bourque

Morgan Anthony Bourque

Morgan Anthony Bourque grew up in The Woodlands, Texas, in a community that valued responsibility and practical solutions. Those early influences shaped his path as he earned a Bachelor of Science from Baylor University, where he also studied communication and speech. He went on to attend Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law and then South Texas College of Law, where he developed a strong interest in courtroom work through Mock Trial and Moot Court, earning championships.

During law school, Morgan learned to explain complex issues in clear terms, think critically in challenging moments, and communicate effectively with juries. Before starting his own practice, he gained experience across different parts of the justice system. He interned at the United States Attorney’s Office, Department of Justice, Southern District of Texas, as well as the district attorney’s offices in Harris County and Montgomery County. These roles gave him an inside view of how investigations begin, how plea decisions are made, and how trial preparation unfolds behind the scenes. He treated each experience as practical training, studying how cases are built and how assumptions or errors can be challenged.

After returning to The Woodlands, he began practicing law with his father, whose long-standing experience helped shape the firm’s approach. Their practice covers criminal defense, DWI defense, family law, and personal injury matters involving serious injuries or wrongful death. He handles each case as if it may go to trial, which has contributed to securing more not guilty verdicts in criminal and DWI cases in Montgomery County since 2019 than any other attorney. In family and injury cases, he focuses on how evidence was gathered and how an event changed a person’s medical, financial, and social life.

His method with clients is structured and transparent. He begins by discussing the problem and the client’s goals, then develops a step-by-step plan that may include gathering documents, preparing witnesses, consulting experts, and establishing a timetable. He maintains consistent communication and avoids drama in court, relying on clarity and thorough preparation to ensure a smooth process. He also conducts practice sessions to help clients stay calm and confident when testifying.

Living and working in The Woodlands influences how he approaches every case, and clients have direct access to him throughout the process. He encourages anyone facing legal trouble to seek help early so that the evidence can be preserved and a strategy can be developed promptly. With a focus on preparation and steady communication, Morgan Anthony Bourque continues to guide clients toward informed decisions about their future.

Ethan Ruby, Esq., is a licensed attorney in New York and an independent insurance adjuster with a focus on labor law, insurance defense, and high-exposure claims. He built his academic and professional foundation at the Bronx High School of Science, Binghamton University, and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Currently serving as a Senior Claim Specialist at National Claim Services, he brings experience in litigation, mediation, and risk transfer. His qualifications also include licenses in real estate, notary services, and adjusting.

Ethan was born in 1995 and raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in a bilingual household with dual citizenship in the United States and France. While in high school, Attorney Ethan Ruby participated in athletics and was part of a state-champion mock trial team. He began college in New Orleans, where he took part in community programs that mentored young boys who had lost their fathers. He later transferred and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Law in December 2017.

His legal experience began before law school, working as a paralegal at a business immigration firm and interning at the New York County Supreme Court. These early roles gave him exposure to litigation and court operations. In law school, he participated in the mediation clinic, resolving civil and small claims matters, and served as an Associate Editor for a legal journal. He also interned at organizations focused on legal aid and defense.

After passing the New York Bar in 2021, Ethan worked in law firms handling labor law, negligence defense, and insurance litigation. His responsibilities included legal drafting, client preparation, discovery, and court appearances.
