Perry Clarke Greene was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and spent his early years in Athens, where his father worked as a minister at the Church of Christ campus. His family relocated frequently, moving to cities such as Memphis and Escondido, California, Gainesville, Florida, and eventually Riverdale, Georgia, where he settled by the time he was in eighth grade. Despite frequent moves, he remained determined to overcome challenges and build a future through hard work and dedication.

By the age of nine, Greene was earning money by cutting lawns and collecting cans. At twelve, he helped his family deliver 500 newspapers each morning before school. He is currently involved in the development of data analytics projects. In the area of on-premise OLAP tools, he contributes to the system prototyping process, from selecting the indexing engine to designing and implementing dashboards.

He was part of the University's Governing Team, where he was responsible for defining strategic lines related to ICT.

He has led several initiatives focused on technological renewal, including:

Upgrading campus network connectivity

Implementing new storage systems

Transitioning to elastic computing infrastructures

Introducing AI-powered tools for information management

Previously, he developed and implemented a project to improve the energy efficiency of the university’s data processing center. The project incorporated indirect free-cooling systems and cold/hot aisle containment, resulting in significant energy savings. The current Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) is 1.6 in summer and 1.3 in winter.
