Dr. Mangat's current book project, entitled "Forms of Affiliation: Disability Life Writing and the Socialization of Care," shows how disability life writing imagines the socialization of care through the formalization of networked affiliations that counter the neoliberal privatization of care within the enclosure of the family.

Dr. Mangat’s work is forthcoming or published in the edited collections, Care and Disability and Neurodiversity on Television, as well as the Journal of Popular Music Studies and Americas: A Hemispheric Music Journal. Maxwell, known around the world as the Blind BLogger, transformed himself from a blind failed carnival owner to a respected amusement equipment broker. In the beginning he had to learn so many things including teaching himself to hand code HTML. People were impressed, and asked him to share more about being a blind entrepreneur. He started a second site as The Blind Blogger a nickname people had been using on Linked In. Since then he has written four books, wo of which are award winners. Jon Osaki is an award-winning filmmaker who has directed and produced promotional, educational, narrative, and documentary films. His initial interest in film grew from his desire to raise awareness of critical social justice issues he has encountered over this thirty-year career as a youth development activist. Jon’s filmmaking is focused on activism and narrative change through which he has addressed issues such as the targeting of immigrant communities, reparations for the Black community, and the model minority myth. His films have been screened on Capitol Hill in Washington DC, at national policy conferences, the National Judicial College, film festivals, and broadcasted nationally.
