I have been collecting Spider-Man comic books and memorabilia for more than 50 years. My collection and stories of collecting have been featured in various media over the past two years. My emotional connection to the character is the hallmark of my collection. The emotional connection has been strengthened by many cool interactions with comic creators, other collectors, and a family who supports my hobby.
I have also experienced all of Spider-Man’s introductions into various media (cartoons, tv shows, newspaper comic strips, movies, live theater). Another connection to the character: my entire life has been lived in Johnstown, PA, the hometown of Steve Ditko (co-creator of the character).

He is particularly interested in human perception of art and creativity, researching methods in which machines can augment or emulate these processes. Dave Pabellon is a graphic designer. He constantly pursues endeavors that connect his graphic design practice with social empowerment through the studio and classroom environment. He has mentored and instructed in the non-profit sector (Marwen, Bayview Hunters Point Center of Art and Technology, and Project Osmosis), instructs at the university level (University of Illinois at Chicago, Northwestern University, SAIC, and University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana), and lectures infrequently for professional design institutions and organizations (AIGA's Design for Democracy, and University & College Designers Association).
