He earned his MSc in Cardiology from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. He completed a cardiology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College, which helped refine his specialized skills in cardiology.

Born on January 3rd, 1960, in India, Dr. Jacob’s journey in medicine began when he enrolled at St. John’s Medical College in Bangalore, where he obtained his MBBS degree in 1983. Following his undergraduate education, he chose to specialize in internal medicine and completed his MD in General Internal Medicine in 1991, further strengthening his medical foundation.

In 1992, Dr. Jacob moved to the United Kingdom, where he gained valuable international experience. He worked as a Senior House Officer and Medical Registrar at Letterkenny General Hospital in Ireland, a position that allowed him to develop his clinical skills further. During this time, he completed his MSc in Cardiology, focusing his thesis on thrombolysis in acute myocardial infarction. This research project has contributed to the medical field's understanding of this critical treatment approach.

1996, Jose Jacob relocated to the United States to pursue further medical training. He began his U.S. journey with an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. After his residency, he advanced his education by completing a cardiology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College and New York Presbyterian Hospital, specializing in invasive cardiology.

Dr. Jacob’s professional career began in 2002, and he has since worked in several renowned hospitals across the United States. His early career was spent at the Fayetteville Heart Center in North Carolina, followed by Carolina Heart and Carolina East Cardiology roles. From 2010 to 2018, he worked at Eastern Carolina Cardiovascular, where he gained recognition for his expertise in invasive cardiology procedures.

I am driven to help people use performance psychology principles to improve their lives! After nearly 20 years as a sport and performance psychologist, I’ve learned that high performance is not only a set of tools but a way of being that we bring to everything we do. Yet, in several high performing industries, we’re behind in taking action on mental health—and in some ways I get it because how we’ve talked about mental health in these spaces doesn’t consider important nuances of high performance.

He completed medical school and general psychiatry residency training at SUNY Buffalo and child fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University. Over the past 20 years, he has worked in academics, clinical, and research. He has published over 100 peer reviewed articles or book chapters and supported over 40 different research trials for medication.
