He graduated from The University of Southern California with a B.A. In Interdisciplinary Studies and received his medical degree from The University of Chicago - Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Urvashi Vaid is an associate professor in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine who is passionate about the education of future physicians on the continuum from medical school to fellowship. Her focus is on undergraduate medical education, medical education research focused on uncertainty and learning in the clinical environment, pulmonary physiology, and critical care medicine.
She was an integral part of the curricular transformation at SKMC- moving from a siloed traditional Flexnerian curriculum to a fully integrated system-based curriculum and now directs the Preclinical Phase of medical school (Phase 1) while simultaneously attending in the medical ICU.
