Dr. Colleen Fisher obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1990 from the University of Saskatchewan. She developed a special interest in working dog medicine through her engagement with a number of police canine units, detector dog agencies, and assistance animal organizations. She is the veterinarian for the Canadian Task Force 4 (Manitoba) Urban Search and Rescue Team. Dr. Fisher received her MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour from the University of Edinburgh in 2019. Her research focused on the ability of psychiatric (PTSD) service dog handlers and search and rescue dog handlers to recognize stress in their canine partners. Dr. Stanley Liu is the Chair and Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) at NSU. He directs the NSU Health Breathe & Sleep Wellness Center. Previously, he was the Associate Professor of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he directed the sleep surgery fellowship. Dr. Liu completed dental and medical schools at U.C.S.F., during which he was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) medical scholar. He also completed OMFS residency at UCSF, followed by sleep surgery fellowship at Stanford. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Liu’s practice and research focus on upper airway surgery for sleep-disordered breathing (SDB). He has published over 120 original texts, with updates on nasal, pharyngeal, skeletal, and neurostimulation surgery for SDB. He is a frequent Keynote speaker for preeminent conferences in sleep medicine.

Karthik Akinapelli is a seasoned Lead Statistical Programmer with over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Currently serving as an Associate Director at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, he specializes in clinical trial data analysis and regulatory submissions to FDA and EMA.
Throughout his career at companies including PTC Therapeutics, Iterum Therapeutics, and Durata Therapeutics, Karthik has successfully led multiple Phase III projects and managed cross-functional teams in developing critical statistical analyses. He has particular expertise in infectious disease therapeutics and has made significant contributions to celiac disease research.
Karthik holds a Master's in Biostatistics from the University of Florida with a 3.92 GPA, a Master's in Chemistry from Texas A&M University Commerce, and a Bachelor's in Pharmacy from Kakatiya University in India. He has co-authored multiple publications focused on bacterial skin infections and their treatments, and has presented his research at several symposiums, including winning third prize at the North Texas Life Science Research Symposium.
His technical expertise includes advanced proficiency in SAS programming tools and sample size software, combined with a deep understanding of CDISC standards and clinical data management. Albert Lai MD is renowned for his expertise in interventional pain management, blending state-of-the-art medical treatments with a deep commitment to compassionate care. His work has significantly improved the lives of chronic pain sufferers throughout southern California, establishing him as a critical figure in the medical community.

Growing up in Southern California in a first-generation Chinese American family, Albert was instilled with a strong appreciation for education and a rich cultural heritage, which guided his path to a career in medicine. He pursued his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine, followed by medical studies at St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, where he gained a broadened medical perspective.

During his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Tufts - New England Medical Center, Dr. Lai distinguished himself through his dedication to developing non-pharmacological approaches to pain management. His innovative thinking and leadership earned him the position of Chief Resident, allowing him to refine his approach to patient care further.

Upon completing his residency, Albert embarked on a career in private practice, joining the teams at Desert Pain Specialists in Rancho Mirage and the Centers of Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine in Placentia. Here, he was instrumental in developing comprehensive rehabilitation programs that have set new standards in the treatment of chronic pain.
