Raj Devarajan

Raj Devarajan

Raj Devarajan grew up in India with a steady sense of purpose and an early commitment to medicine. At fifteen, he entered Madras Medical College, beginning medical school while many students were still deciding what to study. That early step reflected the focus that would guide his long professional path.

After completing medical school, Raj moved to the US for advanced training. He completed residencies in adult psychiatry at Yale University, child psychiatry at Harvard University, and internal medicine and gastroenterology at Tufts University. By the time his fellowship ended in 1994, he had developed a broad clinical background that enabled him to understand patients' needs across both physical and behavioral health.

In 1994, Raj founded Middlesex Gastroenterology, PC. Over the next 29 years, he helped grow one of the busiest gastroenterology practices in Massachusetts. Before retiring from clinical medicine in 2023, he performed more than sixty thousand endoscopic procedures. He also founded the ERCP program at Emerson Hospital and Nashoba Valley Medical Center, supporting treatment for problems involving the bile ducts and pancreas.

Raj Devarajan, MD, worked closely with Emerson Hospital, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Boston Children's Hospital, and Yale New Haven Medical Center. In 2005, he established ASC Middlesex Endoscopy Center, LLC, to help provide patient care more efficiently outside the hospital setting. He served as the facility's President until 2023.

Raj's leadership included serving as President of the Medical Staff at Emerson Hospital from 2015 to 2017 and as a Board member from 2015 to 2019. He also served as Past President of the Massachusetts Gastroenterology Association and the American Association of Gastroenterologists of Indian Origin. Beyond healthcare, he founded several companies in other sectors.

Raj served as a speaker for Salix Pharmaceuticals, Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, Forest Pharmaceuticals, and AstraZeneca. He also worked as a consultant for Boston Scientific and Pentax Corporation and served on the Medical Advisory Board of Cristcot Corporation and Allurion Corporation. He appeared in television interviews to explain common gastrointestinal diseases in clear language. He also holds a share of a patent for an HCA drug formulation tested worldwide and currently awaiting FDA approval.

Outside work, he enjoys golf, tennis, chess, bridge, and skiing. He is a father of two adult children and values charitable service, including supporting a school in India and volunteering at the Acton Food Pantry.

From Physics to People

Forget the stereotype of the physicist in corduroys; I thrive on working with people. Physics taught me systems thinking, and humans are the most complex systems of all.

Fifteen years ago in Japan, my mentor taught me the concept of "Paying Forward"—passing value to the next person rather than paying it back. After a career spanning global leadership roles, deep dives into Agile and Lean, and managing the transformation of 30+ production sites, it is time to pay it forward.

I see a disconnect: firms stuck in Agile/Lean transformations because production lacks flexibility, or efficient factories slowed down by sluggish R&D. Above all, I see leaders struggling with growing complexity.

My expertise sits in the "magic triangle" of Agile, Lean, and Leadership. Trusted by industry leaders like SBB or SAP, I help leaders and organizations navigate their specific growth journeys.

Offline: I’m a tennis club chairman, athlete, Heavy Metal enthusiast, father and reader of epic fantasy.

Ramsey Elkholy

Ramsey Elkholy

Ramsey Elkholy is a guitarist, producer, songwriter, and anthropologist who founded the indietronica collective Monotronic in 2016. He conceived the project as a communal platform where instruments interweave into a single expressive force. Rather than spotlighting individual virtuosity, he emphasizes shared intention and group chemistry, encouraging collaborators to shape each track with their own textures, instincts, and creative voice.

Elkholy’s parallel career in anthropology informs that philosophy. He earned a PhD and authored Being and Becoming: Embodiment and Experience Among the Orang Rimba of Sumatra, a study of rainforest foragers in Indonesia. His research explored how identity, environment, and daily practice intertwine. That perspective carries into his music, where rhythm and atmosphere reflect lived experience and collective awareness.

Travel has also played a defining role in his artistic development. After spending three years backpacking across Asia and beyond, studying Indian music in Calcutta, and completing two years of fieldwork in Sumatra, Ramsey Elkholy Monotronic developed a deep sensitivity to polyrhythm and texture. He has described the rainforest at night as a vast, layered symphony. Raised in New York and now based in Los Angeles, he works from a home garage studio.

Monotronic’s 2026 album Waiting for You represents a significant chapter in the collective’s growth. The record features acclaimed bassist Mohini Dey on Close Enough and legendary drummer Omar Hakim throughout the project. Several accompanying videos, including Looking Away and Everything Moves, premiered at number one on VEVO, expanding the band’s reach and visual identity.

The album blends indie rock, pop, and electronic elements into a cohesive, cinematic sound marked by reflective lyrics and polished production. Everything Moves unfolds in a high-energy escape room setting, while Kettle Song pairs dynamic choreography with striking imagery. Many of the songs were written during time spent in Tulum, where coastal landscapes shaped the album’s contemplative mood.

Since releasing their self-titled debut in 2019, Monotronic has earned praise from outlets such as Rolling Stone and Relix. A rotating roster of accomplished musicians has contributed to the project, many of whom have ties to major artists across genres. Singles including Kids of Summer and In Between have drawn a strong critical response, reinforcing Elkholy’s reputation for genre-fluid songwriting and immersive sound design.
