Jason Hornady

Jason Hornady

Jason Hornady has dedicated more than twenty-five years to influencing the evolution of the firearms and ammunition industry, merging his sharp business insight with a deep appreciation for shooting sports. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated remarkable proficiency in business management, marketing, and the strategic development of sporting goods ventures. His long-standing commitment to the industry is a testament to his ability to innovate while staying true to the foundational principles that define responsible firearm practices.

As vice president at a prominent ammunition manufacturing company, Jason has played a pivotal role in transforming the family-run operation into a dominant force in bullet and ammunition production. His efforts have spanned advancements in reloading equipment and the development of secure storage solutions, focusing on quality and performance. Under his leadership, the company has seen expansive growth, with Hornady guiding the way through product innovation and an unyielding dedication to excellence across all facets of the business.

Hornady's roots in the industry run deep, and he is part of a legacy that began with his grandfather. Raised in a family deeply embedded in bullet manufacturing, he took his father's advice and worked outside the family business to gain broader industry experience. After earning a degree in Marketing from the University of Wyoming, he entered the professional world through a firm representing sporting goods manufacturers, where he managed a network of over 200 dealers and distributors, laying the groundwork for his future impact.

Following that, Jason Hornady sharpened his skills as Director of Sales and Marketing at Redfield Riflescopes Inc., a Riflescope manufacturer. His responsibilities included overseeing worldwide sales teams and directing public relations, advertising, and product development. Although the company later closed, the experience taught him essential business lessons. His next role at a marketing firm allowed him to showcase his ability to drive exponential sales growth, including a staggering 450% increase in one primary retail account, setting the stage for his return to his family's business with a track record of proven success.

In 2006, Jason returned to the company his grandfather founded and his father led. With a clear vision, he entered the business to guide its next chapter, focusing on operational enhancement and brand expansion. Appointed Vice President the following year, he helped usher in a new era by overseeing the launch of over 700 new products, bolstering the brand's reach, and consistently delivering year-over-year growth. His leadership has been marked by a blend of innovation and strategic foresight, helping position the company as a staple among ammunition producers.

Beyond growing the business, Hornady has built a brand identity that resonates with a broad audience—from hunters and competitive shooters to military and law enforcement. His marketing initiatives have elevated the company's visibility while preserving its reputation for dependability. His ability to adapt to market changes and leverage evolving consumer preferences has ensured that the company remains at the forefront of the ammunition industry regarding technological advancement and customer loyalty.

Jason is also widely recognized for his advocacy work and enduring conservation and outdoor education support. His active role in the Congressional Sportsman's Foundation has enabled him to help shape national policy to benefit the outdoor sporting community. As a former Chairman of the foundation's board, he influenced critical legislation reinforcing the rights of hunters and recreational shooters, aligning legal frameworks with the values of responsible gun ownership.

Jason Hornady's advocacy continues through board service on several conservation-focused organizations, including a key foundation dedicated to protecting wildlife and enhancing outdoor recreation in his home state. He firmly believes that the future of shooting sports is intrinsically linked to environmental stewardship and community involvement. His leadership in these areas illustrates his unwavering commitment to ensuring the longevity and integrity of the outdoor traditions that have defined his personal and professional life.
