The Microsoft Fabric & Power BI User Group Austria is a community meetup for people working with data on the Microsoft stack. At our meetups we get together in the evening, listen to a couple of talks, and exchange ideas with others who deal with similar challenges.

Our Meetups happen in Vienna, Graz, Linz and remotely. Each event clearly indicates when and how (in-person only, remote or hybrid) it will happen.

Topics are intentionally broad. We cover everything from Power BI and Fabric to Azure data services and classic on-prem setups. Some sessions go deep into technical details, others focus more on real-world use cases or lessons learned from projects.

The goal is simple: share practical knowledge, show what actually works (and what doesn’t), and create a space where people can learn from each other without any marketing fluff.

We run on the last Wednesday of every month with two speakers per session. We run from 18:00-20:00 (UK time).

Subjects can cover anything related to security and compliance in Microsoft 365, Windows, and Azure. 

We are typically not interested in beginner/L100 level sessions unless they are for new, overlooked, or otherwise unknown capabilities.  For example, we don't need introductions to Conditional Access. Our audience is deeply technical and generally well versed in Microsoft security.

We are a regional user group, part of the Dynamics 365 & Power Platform UK User Groups.

User groups having been running in the UK for over 10 years, starting with a user group for Dynamics CRM in 2011.

Since then, we have expanded in number and in scope, covering not just the traditional ‘CRM’ applications under Dynamics 365 but also the Microsoft Power Platform – Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Power Virtual Agents.

Our user groups provide an opportunity for users of Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform to get together, share their knowledge and get to know each other in a fun, open, and welcoming environment. Whatever your level of experience or how long you’ve been using the products, you’re welcome to our meetings!

Topics

The user group meetings cover all topics under the Dynamics 365 and Power Platform umbrella. We have talks on technical subjects such as development and solution architecture but also cover business perspectives as well, such as user adoption, managing change and business analysis.

National user group

Our flagship user group – what we call the National user group – runs several events per year. These last all day, have over 15 sessions and typically attract an audience of over of over one hundred people. The events are held at Microsoft’s offices in Reading or London.

Regional user groups

Our regional user groups cover many areas of the UK. These meetings are typically held in the evening after a working day and have 2 or 3 speakers on topics related to Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform.

DotNetFriday is the best way to start your weekend. Eat, drink, share knowledge and have fun with tech. We're a meetup platform about the Microsoft .NET Technology and Azure. Come speak! Come learn! We host 4 events annually!

Our community is open and diverse. We encourage new speakers, as well as established speakers to submit session proposals. Please read our Code of Conduct on our website (https://dotnetfriday.nl) for more information.

All our meetup events are in-person events hosted in Nieuwegein (nearby Utrecht). We may publish session recordings online after the event (when speakers agree to). We don't host remote sessions. Sessions are presented in English, speakers are allowed to switch to Dutch if the entire audience understands Dutch fluently.

We have limited funding for travel and accommodation assistance. So travelling from abroad cannot be reimbursed.
