data TGIF CFS 2025

Hi everyone!

🎤 Call for Speakers: Data TGIF 2025

(https://www.meetup.com/data-tgif) Ready to kick off your weekend with meaningful conversations, fresh data insights, and a welcoming global community? Data TGIF Call For Speaker is back after 4 long years in order to line up (almost) everyone who applied to. Get on stage, online, curious, and hydrated with the beverage of your choice!

We’re looking for speakers who are passionate about data in all its forms: analytics, engineering, visualization, machine learning, governance, project management or DEI - you name it. What you'll speak about is your choice. If you submit, chances are that you'll be speaking, somewhen, at least. We will contact you and ask you for possible dates. Remember, however, that the waiting list may be long - last time, some people had to wait for more 4 years! Please make sure that you have read and abide the code of conduct found here: https://www.meetup.com/data-tgif

First principle is FIFO: First in, first out! So if you want to speak soon, be quick and submit! The topic can be decided later, so if you don't know what to speak about yet, use "to be defined".

Some of you may end up to be a bit lucky if we ask people to jump in, so our CFS will serve for this, too. Therefore, we will not ask you for a specific date, but rather talk to you first to make sure you'll have a date that fits you. Please be patient, we won't contact you all at once, but according to the order of the submission list. So, depending on when you've submitted, it may be taking a while until you'll get contacted.

Whether you're a first-time speaker or a seasoned presenter, we welcome fresh perspectives and diverse voices. If you are a first-time speaker, we will prioritize you, also if you are a speaker for DEI or represent a minority. If you are a first time speaker, we can support you by mentoring you for your speaking for the first time, if you want this.

🧠 What We’re After

Our speaking format is generally about 30 mins (no hard timeframe though!). If you're speaking about DEI (Diversity and Equity and Inclusion), you will be able to speak for 1 hour by default.

Tech talks should be: Thought-provoking and inspiring talks (ca. 30 - 45 min)

* Something about Microsofts Data Stack. That can be SQL Server, Azure Data, MS Fabric, Power BI and more. Exception: If you are having a DEI (Diversity, Equity & Integration) talk, try to get some tech stuff into it, but that is no hard rule. We like to have DEI experts with no technical background, too.

* Practical insights, bold ideas, or stories from the data trenches, but NOT: specific case studies from a single customer, but 1 customer is a specific use case that usually cannot be applied to others.

* Sessions need to be tailored for a friendly, engaged, and cross-disciplinary audience

* Your attendees will be from wherever you they are in the world

💡 Please refrain from sales pitches! Please share substance and support learning for everyone, and a sprinkle of TGIF energy.

🌐 All sessions are held live online and in English, and we encourage interactive elements like polls or Q&A.

Don’t miss your chance to inspire and be inspired.

You'll find more information on https://www.meetup.com/data-tgif

Best wishes your organizers: Kay Sauter and Deepthi Goguri.

Archifridays

ArchiFridays: A space to rethink IT architecture — together

In a fast-paced digital world, where transformation never stops, stepping back to reflect, structure, and elevate our practices is more important than ever.
ArchiFridays were created for exactly this reason: a weekly gathering for those who believe that architecture is a strategic discipline — not just diagrams and frameworks, but a way to bring clarity, consistency, and vision to IT initiatives.

A unique format, designed by and for the community
ArchiFridays are weekly webinars held every Friday from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM (Paris time / UTC+2).
The format is intentionally open to everyone: seasoned professionals, certified architects, students, self-taught builders, or innovators launching new ideas. What matters is the willingness to share knowledge, experiences, and perspectives on architecture.

Each session is led by one or more speakers and focuses on a specific topic:

  • enterprise, cloud, data, security, or microservices architecture
  • modeling tools, API management, low-code platforms, DevOps pipelines
  • certifications like TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS, Prosci, etc.
  • real-world case studies and lessons learned from complex projects

But ArchiFridays go one step further.

A distinctive feature: expert + junior, two perspectives
Once a month, the last Friday session is a bit different: it revisits one of the month’s previous topics, this time through a deep architectural lens.

This special edition — called “ArchiFridays: Crossed Perspectives” — is built around a powerful idea: the best insights emerge when we combine experienced and fresh viewpoints.

The session brings together a senior architect and a junior profile. One brings structure, methodology, and years of experience. The other brings energy, curiosity, and field reality. Together, they re-explore the topic, demonstrating how architecture can reshape projects and reveal hidden value.

Inclusive, bilingual, and supportive
Another strength of ArchiFridays is its bilingual openness: sessions can be held in English or French, depending on the speaker’s preference — allowing for broader reach and cultural diversity.

And for those who are presenting for the first time, we offer personalized support: content structuring, slide review, technical rehearsals, and speaker coaching.
The goal? Empower emerging voices and promote meaningful cross-generational exchanges within the architecture community.

Join the ArchiFridays movement
ArchiFridays are more than just a series of webinars. They’re a community lab, where ideas meet practice and perspectives evolve through collective intelligence.

Azure in the ATL

This group meets in person only and does not have a digital footprint and no capability for remote presentations.

Cloud computing is already a multi-billion dollar business for Microsoft, and yet Azure is just now hitting its stride. Perhaps you're a long-time MS stack developer wondering "where do I go from here?" Maybe you're a seasoned dev manager or director curious how cloud in general and Azure in particular might fit into your next project. If you're looking for the future of Microsoft on the server and in the enterprise... you've found it! This group caters to all things Microsoft Azure and cloud computing. We'll explore a range of topics in three key areas (in likely order of decreasing frequency):

1. Nuts-and-bolts Azure dev tools, APIs, features, etc... "how to accomplish in Azure"

2. Higher-level topics on cloud computing patterns, architectural best practices, data access strategies, etc. with a focus on applying these in the Microsoft Azure environment

3. Business-oriented topics like cloud economic and pricing models, cloud migration strategies, legal and compliance implications of the cloud, etc.

Ultimately our topic list is determined by the interests of the group members. We meet monthly and vary meeting formats as needed; mostly a 30 minute meet-and-greet followed by a 60-90 minute presentation, but some months we'll do two smaller presentations, we'll even try multiple 15 minute lightning talks if we have sufficient interest. We'll keep things relatively informal... as long as the sessions are relevant and engaging for the audience, that's what matters most. Hope you'll come out and join us!
