Ines Akrap is a frontend engineer, a Google Developer Expert in Web Performance, and co-chair of the W3C Sustainable Web Interest Group, the group writing the guidelines that define what sustainable means for the web.

Her entry point wasn't environmental activism. It was a curiosity about a CO2 number tied to a JavaScript bundle and one question she couldn't stop asking: can we get rid of this? What followed was years of research, speaking across Europe, and co-authoring Building the Sustainable Web (Apress, 2026), a practical guide for web development teams who want to understand the full cost of what they build.

Waste is a bug.

Matt “Kelly” Williams is the founder of Making Software Greener and CEO of the Sustainable IT Manifesto Foundation. He helps engineers see how architecture, DevOps, and AI shape performance, cost, and sustainability—and why they’re really the same problem.

With over three decades in IT, Kelly has worked across DevOps, cloud computing, and software architecture. He serves on the advisory board of the Green Computing Foundation and speaks internationally about sustainable software, developer agency, and the hidden inefficiencies that shape modern systems.

He has always wanted to be a Renaissance person; perhaps one day he will be. In the meantime, he explores sustainable computing, photography, tabletop game design, weaving, cooking, and wandering the mountains near Loveland, Colorado.

Systems remember every decision we make.

Hi! I’m Nicolas, a developer with over 25 years of experience, now working as a freelance mobile app developer.

My journey has taken me from programming MS-DOS games to building electronic test systems for the oil industry, before transitioning to mobile development in 2017.

Everything changed during an eco-volunteering mission in French Polynesia, where I monitored sea turtles. This experience inspired *“We Spot Turtles!”*, a side project that has since become one of my main activities as a freelancer.

In 2022, an unexpected encounter with an Australian helped propel the project onto the international stage, eventually leading to it being featured by Google in a global campaign.

Today, I build this solution using Flutter, co-organize the Flutter Nantes meetup, and aim to expand the impact of this application dedicated to sea turtle conservation worldwide.
