Sue Gander serves as the Director of U.S. Connective Mobility at the World Resources Institute (WRI). This includes leading the Electric School Bus Initiative and Ports of the Future and decarbonization efforts across the medium and heavy-duty vehicle sectors more broadly, working with owner, operators, manufacturers, charging providers, utilities, policy makers and community organizations.
Prior to WRI, Sue was the Managing Director of Policy for the Electrification Coalition where she worked to accelerate the adoption of EVs at scale across the transportation sector, including advancing federal and state policies and leading on freight electrification and vehicle to grid initiatives. For over a decade, Sue directed the Energy, Infrastructure and Environment Division at the National Governors Association, spearheading policy support for the transformation of the energy and transportation sectors. Sue also served at the U.S. EPA and at the Center for Clean Air Policy where she led initiatives on clean energy, air quality and climate change.
Sue earned a MA in Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin, with a Certificate in Energy Analysis and Policy and a capstone project on alternative fuel vehicles, and a BA cum laude in Public Policy from Brown University.

Paul is an expert ontologist & innovator, specialising in healthcare. Having personally read and manually themed the comments of several hundred thousand patients, employees, and people with mental health challenges, gives Paul a unique expert lived experience perspective.

Akumen the company he founded has now digitally themed and analysed over twelve million patient comments for more than fifty healthcare organisations, including all of NHS Wales. Every day, Akumen processes 10,000 comments, equivalent to 150,000 words, uncovering valuable insights for improvement and innovation, giving patients a collective voice. We balance technology with human insight to deliver systems that support the increasing convergence of Human and Machine.

Paul’s holy grail is the study of meaning and wisdom, the catalyst for this pursuit, a near-death experience which happened in his early farming career. By mapping 40,000 wisdom quotes Paul will uncover the DNA of Wisdom which he hopes will steer Artificial Intelligence towards much needed wisdom.

Adding to Paul's extraordinary story is his background as a farmer. Although his farming days are behind him, he now keeps bees and grow trees on a 5-acre field near the cliffs of North Cornwall.

Outside of work, Paul can often be found hauling plastic waste from North Cornwall’s coves and beaches, sometimes using ropes and a yoke to carry waste for a mile and up five hundred feet. So far, he has collected over five tons of plastic waste and hopes to reach six tons by his 65th birthday.

Paul also enjoys playing guitar, writing songs and poems, cooking, kayaking, and walking in nature.

An artist, entrepreneur and climate activist, Shayna Solis is co-founder, CEO, and creative mastermind of Navteca, a technology company that creates practical applications based on new and emerging technology, such as cloud computing, immersive reality (XR) and digital twins, natural language interfaces using conversational AI, and open science tools. Collaborating with NASA and other international organizations, Shayna has led a multi-year investigation into the applications of virtual and augmented reality for NASA Earth science and disaster applications as a significant new approach to enhancing the way we view and communicate science and data in an engaging, interactive format. Shayna also founded the non-profit organization, Climate Warrior Collective, to raise awareness about climate change and make caring about the Earth more modern and relevant to diverse populations through fashion, technology, music, and art.

Navteca is a technology company with a focus on creating practical applications based on new and emerging technology, such as cloud computing, HPC in the cloud, platform engineering, immersive technology (XR), artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) and natural language interfaces. Since 2010, Navteca has developed, executed, and managed unique technical solutions for government clients like NASA and USGS, non-profits like Battelle Institute, and large private entities like Meta. Collaborating with NASA and other international organizations, we have led a multi-year investigation into the applications of virtual and augmented reality for NASA Earth science and disaster applications as a significant new approach to enhancing the way we view and communicate science and data in an engaging, interactive format. Navteca is a long-time collaborator with various NASA centers and was honored to be named the 2021 Small Business Subcontractor of the Year at the Goddard Space Flight Center AND at NASA Headquarters. In 2020, Navteca launched a stand-alone conversational AI tool, Voice Atlas, that is currently being used by NASA, the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab, the DC Government and others to answer questions from curated, vetted knowledge bases using our responsible generative AI system, Voice Atlas.
