Tasfia’s research explores how historical trauma from war and xenophobia can shape the contemporary mental health experiences and perceptions for multiple generations of Bangladeshi immigrant women in New York City. She is also interested in how gender and racial inequalities shape notions around trauma, mental health, identity, and personhood.
