She wrote and illustrated a children’s book about the weather called, “The Weather Story”. Cyrena's professional accomplishments begin back in 2006 when she received a NASA certificate of appreciation for her efforts towards aviation safety while employed at a NASA contractor, AirDat. Brian has previously acted as surveillance epidemiologist for Public Health England’s Immunisation and Countermeasures Division as well as Programme Manager of the “Outbreak!” strand of UCL’s annual Global Citizenship Programme. His long-standing passion for meaningful youth engagement through innovation, capacity building, and experiential learning activities has led him to found LonWHO, the world’s largest Model WHO simulation, and UK Model WHO, the first unified structure for Model WHO simulations in the UK which provides global health policy, advocacy, and diplomacy training for students and young professionals. He has written and delivered policy statements at high-level meetings, such as the World Health Assembly and the WHO’s Executive Board Meeting, as part of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) delegation.

Dr. Gillian L. Galford directs the Certificate and UVM’s Geospatial Technologies program. She teaches in UVM’s Environmental Science Program/Rubenstein School of Environment and is a Fellow at the Gund Institute for Environment. Her research focuses on land-cover and land-use change in the tropics and its impacts, particularly on greenhouse gas emissions and the water cycle. He is a molecular, chemical and genome biologist elucidating the functional role of repetitive, so-called "junk" DNA sequences. This work is guiding the design of new therapeutics and diagnostics for human disease.

She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park.

An active volunteer in her school and community for many years, Jehnae believes of the importance of giving back and making a difference in the world around her. Through many of life’s challenges that she herself has experienced; she has found great comfort in advocating for Girls in STEM; her passion for education has parlayed her into volunteering for many educational focused programs that serve to empower young women in pursuing their educational endeavors. Within her community, Jehnae organized the first organ tissue donor drive at The Lincoln University, through Be The Match Bone Marrow Donation Program. She currently serves as the Co-advisor for the College of Southern Maryland’s Engineering club as well as Chapter Advisor for National Society of Black Engineers Jr chapter. In addition, she instructs the Engineer like a girl program. Jehnae volunteers with local Girl Scout Troops for girls to obtain their STEM Badges. Serves as President of University of Maryland’s Black Graduate Student Union that focuses on growth, development and advocating for educational success of minority students. She is an active member of the Southern Maryland Chain Chapter, The Links Incorporated.

In her Spare time, Jehnae sings in her church gospel choir, a member of the First State Symphonic Band where she plays drums in the percussion section, tutors’ students in physics and math, and mentors’ young women who are interested in STEM fields. Overall, Jehnae hopes to be a part of the movement to increase the number women in male dominated stem fields.

Louis Berman

Louis Berman is a serial entrepreneur who co-founded four different technology firms and was employed as a CTO at GiftCertificates.com and Kideo.com. He presently serves as a Cloud Solutions Architect (CSA) at Microsoft. Mr. Berman developed the very first global-scale CDN deployed on Azure (predating Microsoft’s own offering by some 19 months!), plus three different automated trading platforms, a 3,200-core HPC cluster that delved into crop genomics—the largest RDMA-style cluster ever fielded in Azure up until that point, in late 2016—and countless other projects both on and off the cloud. Mr. Berman currently serves as CSA for the largest Azure customer (both by monthly spend and breadth of usage) in Microsoft Northeast. As a speaker, Mr. Berman has presented on a variety of technical and scientific topics. Recent presentations include “WebJobs (My Next SuperPower!)” for Philly Code Camp, “Batch Processing in Azure” for Microsoft’s TechReady and “ScopeSeeing: A Lifelong Quest to Visit The World’s Greatest Telescopes” for the Northeast Astronomy Forum (NEAF); the world’s largest astronomy event.
