This mission is exemplified by Weller Pharmacy, the Kingston-based practice he co-founded. Under his leadership, Weller became Ontario's first pharmacy designated as both a sustainable business, earning the "Greatest Green House Gas Reduction" award from Sustainable Kingston, and a Living Wage Champion. It also became a founding signatory of the Kingston Workplace Inclusion Charter. He incorporated a patient-first approach in every aspect of the work, from medication therapy management, deprescribing, immunizations, and prescribing for minor ailments to the NAPRA-compliant compounding laboratory.
His clinical role also extends to Brockville General Hospital, where he provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to support the safe distribution of medications as part of an interprofessional team. He is dedicated to expanding this model of conscientious practice throughout the profession.
As an Adjunct Professor at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine, a preceptor for the Ontario College of Pharmacists, and a published researcher, he provides the upcoming generation of pharmacists with tools for sustainable, evidence-based care.
His efforts are further enhanced by his leadership roles in national and international organizations, where he serves as the Director of Content at the Canadian Association for Pharmacy for the Environment (CAPhE), the Chief Development Officer of the International Social Prescribing Pharmacy Association (ISPPA), and Co-Chair of the Sustainable Prescribing Working Group for the Canadian Coalition for Green Healthcare. As a Climate Health Organization Fellow affiliated with Cambridge Health Alliance and Harvard Medical School, his efforts are directed towards fostering a future characterized by equitable, sustainable, pharmacist-led healthcare.
Effective leadership necessitates both community engagement and operational expertise. Recognized as one of the "Power People" in Eastern Ontario by the Ottawa Business Journal, he served as the 2021 Board Chair for the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce and is currently the President of the board for KEYS Employment & Newcomer Services. This community focus is underpinned by a strong business acumen, refined through an International Executive MBA, a Chartered Manager Designation, a diploma in project management and certifications as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Agile Coach.
Additionally, his entrepreneurial drive is demonstrated by his co-founding of Medaki, an innovative e-commerce platform for community pharmacies, and sociaLink Rx, which bridges the critical gap between clinical care and community services by empowering referrals and matching patients to local resources, and measuring outcomes.
His professional background is founded upon a robust academic base, including a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Toronto, where he is presently pursuing a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences. His research concentrates on identifying social determinants of health screening and incorporating social prescribing into pharmacy education and practice.
