As a cancer survivor I passed through a lot. After the tumor was surgically removed in 2005 my life has turned upside-down. Western medicine has not provided with any solution for how to stay in remission after the surgery. A chemo and radio-nuclear treatment are parts of a treatment, not a healing one I think. A preventive medicine in American transcription means to check up cancer development progress regularly performing colonoscopy and endoscopy as often as my health insurance permits.
I flew around the globe and visited those countries/regions/compounds where statistically the mortality rate caused by a gastric cancer stayed close to zero. I stayed at such places learning everything about those folks’ daily diets and found several ingredients local people consume regularly as their regular food that I believe prevents them from developing gastrointestinal cancer. Such countries/regions are New Zealand, Brazil, Turkey, Mongolia, Uruguay.
I changed my life and business course to natural supplements and functional foods importer/distributor. Later I became a brand owner of Bee Magic and Health Republic and brought several natural remedies to USA: Manuka honey, bee propolis extracts, Shilajit, Siberian cedar sap oleoresin, beaver castoreum, maral antlers, chaga and reishi mushrooms.
I do believe such remedies indirectly prevent human mutated cells from converting into cancerous stage. Dr. Fogelman spent 12 years at Geisinger Health System, in the divisions of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine as well as Palliative Medicine and eight years before that at Columbia University Medical Center's Dept of Cardiothoracic Transplant.
At Geisinger, she launched the nation’s first Pulmonary-Palliative Clinic for advanced lung disease management and helped established a system wide Task Force for advanced illness planning. Her Pulmonary-Palliative Clinic model is now utilized at several academic advanced lung failure programs.

Dr. Fogelman is a member of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) national roundtable for Supporting and Sustaining the workforce to care for people with serious illness. She is an avid national educator and advocate for Palliative medicine and advanced lung disease, authoring numerous publications for the Oxford University Press’ Palliative Care series, co-author of the joint society taskforce for the American Thoracic Society Policy Statement - “Palliative Care Early in the Care Continuum among Patients with Respiratory Disease,” (formalized as a national ATS policy Sept 2022), Vice-chair/Society for Critical Care Medicine Clinical Policy Task Force on Guidelines for End of Life Care in ICU. She is an Assistant Professor at Columbia University and host of “Pulmonary-Palliative Care for Advanced Lung Disease,” a podcast with the American Thoracic Society. Most recently, she joined the Board of Directors for Pennsylvania Pink Zone, the breast cancer philanthropy of the Penn State Lady Lions Basketball team.

Dr. Fogelman received her BA at SUNY Geneseo, her BSN and MSN at Pace University/Pleasantville NY campus and her Doctorate at Columbia University. Her clinical interests include the intersection of Palliative and Pulmonary Medicine for advanced lung failure, dementia, & cancer related symptom management. She has been an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Columbia University for nearly 20 years and she is core faculty for the Palliative Care post graduate program. Cheryl Fattibene, DNP, MSN, MPH, FNP-BC Cheryl has been a Family Nurse Practitioner and Nursing leader for 33 years and has experience in a number of healthcare leadership and clinical roles. She has been part of national nursing initiatives including the Nurses on Boards Coalition and the National Forum of State Nursing Workforce. She has worked on healthcare initiatives including value-based care (VBC) and payment models for NPs and is a national presenter on the topic of provider burnout and team-based care models.
