Morten Rand-Hendriksen

Morten Rand-Hendriksen

Morten Rand-Hendriksen is a technology educator, keynote speaker, and developer specializing in AI, bleeding edge web standards, tech- and design ethics, and the intersections between technology and humanity.

When Morten talks about technology, people listen (as evidenced by his 90,000 followers on LinkedIn and 150,000 followers on TikTok).

For more than 15 years, Morten has helped millions of people around the world empower themselves by helping them understand and use emerging technologies. If you work on or with the web, there's a good chance you've seen one of his online courses or viral videos, read his articles and tutorials, or attended one of his live presentations. In his work he uses his neurodivergent understanding of the world to translate complex technical concepts into practical knowledge people can apply in their work and lives.

Morten uses his background in philosophy, politics, and design to explore how technology shapes human experience, communication, communities, and power structures. He centres his work around helping people build a healthy disrespect for the sanctity of technology so they can develop the functionings and capabilities to do and be what they have reason to value, and the agency and autonomy to build their own futures in a rapidly changing technological landscape

Every keynote, conference talk, panel discussion, and workshop Morten delivers is filled to the brim with relatable stories, deep technical insight, and practical takeaways, giving audiences the tools they need to engage with technology on their own terms.

In the beginning... There was teaching English.

But I began writing professionally for the countercultural Spanish tech magazine @rroba in the 90s, and then went on to be the editor/layout monkey/translator/jack-of-all-trades of the Spanish edition of "Linux Magazine – Chronicle of the Revolution".

When that closed, I also quit teaching completely and became editor-in-chief of Linux Magazine — the German one this time, but again in Spanish. I founded a publishing house with German partners in 2004. We published several tech magazines for a decade, covering free software, Linux, open hardware, and mobile technologies. I wrote scathing editorials criticising big tech, public administrations, proprietary vendors, opportunistic politicians, and everything in between. I did layout, marketed the mag to readers and advertisers, unloaded trucks full with pallets of copies, built an online subscription portal, and learned everything about the publishing business I could, just in case it would come in handy.

When the magazine market went belly up in the late 2000s and early 2010s, we held on until 2014 and then called it quits, and I recycled myself into a "communications expert" because, why not?

I started working as a marketing consultant for KDE e.V. in 2017. I work with the members of the Promo team, setting goals, managing campaigns and analysing results. I also help KDE projects optimise their communication strategies, and I copywrite and proofread their websites and blog posts.

I also run most of KDE's fundraising efforts, and consult for GNOME on the stuff I have become experienced with.

Am I expert? I guess so. I think I can answer a lot of questions of what's going on in the open source market, and can figure out what will work in a campaign, and see opportunities where they are not obvious. Either way, I'll let you be the judge of that.

I am an expert in brand psychology and the founder of NOBUS - an exclusive agency specializing in brand psychology and perception.

I studied business psychology, with a focus on advertising psychology and market behavior.
Afterward, I spent ten years in international marketing - in Austria, the Netherlands, South Africa, and most recently in Boston, USA. I’ve led teams of over 25 people, managed annual advertising budgets exceeding $40 million, and worked with over 60 brands. Internal training sessions, client workshops, and presentations - sharing knowledge during that time wasn’t a byproduct, but an integral part of the job.

At some point, I became more interested in the level beneath the execution than in the execution itself: Why do people choose one company over another - usually before they even compare them? NOBUS was born out of this question.

Today, next to running my own business, I teach as a lecturer at the Digital World Academy in Vienna and give talks, workshops, and seminars.
My talks aren’t lectures: I start with a decision that the audience makes themselves - and let the room realize that the answer had nothing to do with personal preference.

When I’m not thinking about perception, I’m on a mountain (alpine climbing), underwater (scuba diving), or in free fall (skydiving).

Dmytro Hlotenko

Dmytro Hlotenko

Dmytro is a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer at Sage Austria and an AWS Community Builder based in Vienna, Austria. He co-leads AWS User Group Vienna alongside AWS Hero Linda Mohamed, helping grow one of Central Europe's most active cloud communities.
Before Sage, Dima built his cloud foundation at APA-IT — the technology arm of the Austrian Press Agency — where he architected cloud infrastructure for Austria's national broadcaster ORF and developed media workflow systems where latency and reliability are not negotiable. That background in broadcast-grade infrastructure shaped how he thinks about every system he touches today.
By day, Dima manages complex enterprise infrastructure — AWS migrations, Cloudflare security at scale, Progress OpenEdge systems, and production environments where a wrong config means a very bad morning for a lot of people. He's the engineer who gets paged at 2 AM when 1.6 million requests hit in a single day, and who turns those incidents into architecture lessons worth sharing.
His talks bridge the gap between deep technical depth and real-world pragmatism: no theoretical slides, no happy-path demos. If he's on stage, there's a production story behind it, numbers to back it up, and something the audience can implement on Monday.
Outside of infrastructure fires, Dima is a photographer who built a serverless AWS pipeline to process over 8,000 community event photos in a single conference season — because if you're going to automate something, it might as well be something you love.
Dima speaks at AWS Community Days across Europe — Vienna, Prague, Budapest — and has presented at events as far as Abu Dhabi. He's been recognized as Rookie of the Year at Sage and brings the same energy to the community that he brings to an incident bridge call: calm, direct, and focused on what actually works.

Organizations do not change by decree; they change when people, processes, data, and technologies start to communicate with one another.

This is where I come in, working on the integration of people, processes, data, and technologies: the lever through which I accelerate organizational evolution, strengthen execution capabilities, and generate sustainable value over time.

I design and lead cross-functional change and transformation initiatives, operating across governance, innovation, data strategy, operating model design, and the adoption of digital solutions.

My primary objective is to ensure that strategy does not remain on paper, by fostering a culture oriented toward continuous improvement, collaboration, and collective intelligence.
