Hernan Huwyler

Hernan Huwyler

Hernan Huwyler is a Global Risk Management Executive and the Academic Director at IE Law and Business School (Executive Education). With a dual background as an MBA and CPA, Hernan specializes in the intersection of Law, Technology, and Quantitative Risk.

He focuses on "translating" complex regulatory frameworks (EU AI Act, GDPR, ISO 42001) into actionable architectures for engineering and business teams. Unlike traditional compliance officers, Hernan advocates for data-driven risk management, moving beyond "heatmaps" to utilize Monte Carlo simulations, convolution models, and Python-based risk quantification.

Hernan has led Risk, Control, and Audit functions for major multinational corporations across Europe and the Americas. He writes and speaks extensively on Adversarial AI, Algorithmic Auditing, and the financial quantification of Cyber Risk. Past keynote venues include Risk Awareness Conferences (>2,000 risk managers), IIA and ISACA Summits, ProcureCom Europe, IKN Madrid, IE University, and closed-door sessions for international organizations and national regulators. Hernan’s talks consistently rank in the top 5% of conference feedback scores because he makes complex security requirements, business needs and regulations feel like a competitive advantage.

Speaking Topics:

AI Governance: Implementing ISO 42001 and navigating the EU AI Act.
Risk Quantification: Why "Impact x Probability" fails and how to use convolution models.
Adversarial AI: Balancing transparency with security to prevent data poisoning.
AI ROI: Risk-adjusted financial modeling for Generative AI deployments.

Ready-to-Submit Talk Proposals:

Session 1: The Technical/Quant Talk

Title: Kill the Heatmap: Quantifying AI Risk with Python & Monte Carlo Simulations
Abstract: Most organizations manage AI risk using colorful 5x5 "heatmaps." This is mathematically flawed and dangerous for high-stakes AI deployment. In this talk, we will ditch the gut-check methodology. I will demonstrate how to use convolution and Monte Carlo simulations to model the "tail risk" of AI hallucinations and regulatory fines. You will leave with a method to calculate the actual financial exposure of your models—no expensive GRC software required, just math and logic.

Session 2: The Governance/Security Talk

Title: The Transparency Trap: How to Audit AI Without Creating Vulnerabilities
Abstract: New standards like ISO/IEC 12792 demand AI transparency, but in the age of Adversarial Machine Learning, "oversharing" is a security vector. If you reveal your full architecture and training sources, you invite data poisoning and model inversion attacks. This session outlines a "Tiered Disclosure Architecture." We will discuss how to route specific data to auditors, regulators, and users differently, ensuring compliance with the EU AI Act without handing the keys to bad actors.

Session 3: The Business/Strategy Talk

Title: The Real Cost of Intelligence: A Risk-Adjusted Framework for AI ROI
Abstract: Companies are deploying Generative AI based on productivity hype, but they are ignoring the "OpEx Iceberg"—model drift, inference costs, and liability reserves. This talk presents a financial framework for calculating the true ROI of AI. We will cover how to factor in the "Risk Delta" (new risks vs. automated risks), calculate the Levelized Cost of AI (LCOAI), and determine when to build vs. buy based on process uniqueness. A session for leaders who need to justify the cloud bill to the CFO.

Hello, I’m Naveen, a Manager of Solution Architecture, Agentic AI Architect, GenAI Engineer, and technology writer based in Dallas, Texas.

I currently lead a team of Solution Architects at Ashling Partners, where I am responsible for technical leadership, solution quality, team development, and the successful delivery of enterprise automation and AI initiatives. My role involves guiding architects through complex technical decisions, establishing reusable architecture patterns, supporting customer discovery, and ensuring that proposed solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with measurable business outcomes.

I hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science from San Francisco Bay University. My technology journey began at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, where I built a strong foundation in software engineering and problem-solving.

I started my professional career as a .NET Developer at a startup. During that time, I discovered UiPath and entered the field of Robotic Process Automation. Winning first prize in an automation hackathon became an important turning point in my career and strengthened my interest in building practical technology solutions.

After joining Ashling Partners, I progressed from RPA Developer to Lead Developer, Solution Architect, and eventually Manager of the Solution Architecture team. Throughout this journey, I have designed and led enterprise automation, intelligent document processing, generative AI, and agentic automation solutions across multiple industries.

As a manager, I focus on helping Solution Architects grow beyond implementation. I coach team members on architecture thinking, customer communication, technical discovery, delivery ownership, and translating business problems into solutions that create measurable value. I also work closely with delivery, sales, engineering, and customer stakeholders to turn emerging technologies into repeatable enterprise capabilities.

I am particularly interested in agentic AI systems that can perceive, reason, and act across complex business workflows. My work focuses on orchestration, human-in-the-loop processes, AI governance, enterprise security, reliability, and the practical deployment of AI agents in real-world environments.

Outside of my core role, I enjoy creating software products, experimenting with emerging AI technologies, and writing about artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation, and solution architecture. My goal is to explain complex technical concepts through practical examples, real implementations, and lessons learned from experience.

I also lead the UiPath Dallas community, organizing virtual and in-person sessions that bring together automation professionals, technology leaders, and practitioners to learn, collaborate, and share ideas.

In recognition of my contributions to the automation community and my expertise in Core Automation and AI, I have received the UiPath Most Valuable Professional award. I have also served as a judge for the Globee Awards, where I evaluated technology and cybersecurity innovations from organizations and professionals around the world.

I remain committed to building useful technology, developing strong technical leaders, and helping organizations adopt automation and AI in ways that are responsible, scalable, and commercially valuable.

Louise Humpington brings nearly three decades of experience across commercial law (Financial Services Litigation), international development, human rights, and AI ethics and governance. She has worked in some of the world's most demanding governance environments, including as Country Director for Oxfam in Papua New Guinea and as a Non-Executive Director of Amnesty International UK. Her work focuses on applying those legal, regulatory and human impact lenses to the design, development, and deployment of AI and in interrogating the principles of fairness and accountability to that live within their datasets. She argues that governance must be viewed as a mycelium network and that ethical considerations are no longer a cultural nicety. They are foundational to mitigate risk, avoid legal and bottom line liability, and ensuring that real world harms are caught before damage is done. Governance must be preventative, not a mop up exercise.
