Sonia Daniels, Ph.D.

Most organizations don’t fail because of poor leadership or lack of talent. They fail because their systems quietly work against their intentions.

I’m a Ph.D.-trained organizational systems expert and founder of a successful operating company. I work with senior leaders when strategy is clear, people are capable, and execution still isn’t happening.

My keynotes help organizations:
-Understand why execution breaks down even in high-performing cultures
-Replace blame and burnout with system-level clarity
-Build human-centered structures that actually support follow-through
-Leaders bring me in when initiatives stall, transformations lose momentum, or “alignment” hasn’t translated into results. I translate complexity into shared language teams can use immediately—without oversimplifying or shaming.
-Audiences include executive teams, leadership cohorts, government agencies, and professional associations navigating complex change.

Typical outcomes: Greater clarity around where work gets stuck, a shared framework for diagnosing execution problems, and practical next steps leaders can act on after the event—not just inspiration that fades by Monday.

Girard Newkirk

I am building the operating system for the Neighborhood Economy. I started my entrepreneurial journey 10 years ago in Silicon Valley, turning from a retail exec to a founder at 39.

My work sits at the intersection of economics, humanity, and community through Genesis Block, Newkirklytics, the Neighborhood Economy Index, and Newkirk Enterprises. I’m not talking about hypothetical frameworks or abstract policy theory. I’m designing and deploying real systems that make local economic activity visible, measurable, and investable, especially the micro-entrepreneurs, creators, informal workers, and neighborhood-level producers who have always powered our communities but rarely show up in the data.

I believe the future of prosperity isn’t top-down theories based on outdated economic models but rooted in local ownership, inclusive entrepreneurship, and circular capital systems that keep value circulating where people live. My work turns that belief into infrastructure. The Neighborhood Economy Index and our sector tools quantify what has long been unseen: the economic power of microbusinesses, shared kitchens, creatives, disabled entrepreneurs, local manufacturing ecosystems, and underserved communities across the U.S., the Caribbean, Latin America, and Africa.

As a speaker, I bring together data, story, spirit, and strategy. I’ve lived this work for years, building entrepreneurial ecosystems, supporting founders who’ve been overlooked, creating pathways to upward mobility, and designing new economic systems that honor dignity and human possibility. My goal on every stage is simple: help leaders see the Neighborhood Economy differently, not as charity work or an “equity initiative,” but as a powerful engine of growth, resilience, and wealth creation that deserves real investment and serious strategy. It’s actually market inefficiency that needs to be corrected.

I’m here to shift the conversation from wealth extraction to community circulation, from scarcity to abundance, from invisibility to proof, from disconnected programs to systems that actually work. And I’m building alongside institutions, cities, universities, DFIs, foundations, and community leaders who believe, as I do, that the people closest to the problem are also closest to the solution; they need better tools, better data, and better support.

That is the work. That is the calling. And that is the Neighborhood Economy.

Mindy Vail

Mindy Vail

Mindy Vail is a leadership strategist and keynote speaker who helps organizations navigate change without losing their people or their minds.

With 25 years of experience across education, corporate leadership, and consulting, Mindy brings a rare blend of real-world operational insight and human-centered strategy. She’s worked inside organizations carrying the weight of change and alongside leadership teams tasked with executing it, when calendars are full, pressure is high, and AI is already embedded in the workflow.

Her work zeroes in on what actually moves change forward: clearer decisions, stronger alignment, psychological safety, and leadership behaviors that hold up when people are tired and under pressure. Grounded in change management and behavioral science, Mindy connects data, human behavior, and lived experience to help leaders understand not just what needs to change but why it’s hard and how to move through it.

Mindy’s sessions are practical, interactive, and refreshingly honest. She brings levity to work that doesn’t need to be so heavy, while still tackling the hard realities of resistance, accountability, trust, and the gap between strategy and execution. Audiences leave with language, clarity, and tools they can use immediately without the usual “great idea, now what?” hangover.

Outside the keynote stage, Mindy consults with organizations across the private sector, higher education, and municipal government, helping leadership teams build cultures that perform, adapt, and endure, long after the slide deck is closed.

In a small backstreet of Tokyo lives a man named Aki, a 78-year-old former chef. Aki spent most of his life trying to perfectly cook the rice he buys from his friend Mato. He's been at it for 57 years now and still searches for ways to improve his cooking methods. There is probably not too much anybody else could tell Aki about cooking this specific type of rice.

When it comes to his process, Aki's understanding is unrivaled. After years of trial and glorious error, Marijn could be called the Aki of Domain-Driven Design, due to his extensive background in both programming and strategy. He uses this experience to show teams and organizations how to recognize and act on problems and opportunities in an autonomous, self-learning fashion.
