Tomas Prokop

Tomas Prokop

I'm a Microsoft MVP in Business Applications who thinks the Power Platform community spent a decade treating "code" like a swear word. Now AI is generating JavaScript, React, and Python faster than most can review it. The real skill isn't generating code - it's deciding what NOT to build.

My journey in IT started in high school with ASP.NET and Android apps. I got serious about Microsoft technologies through the Student Partners program and joined the Czech Microsoft team in 2016, supporting startups through BizSpark. That's where I discovered Dynamics XRM and got hooked on the platform's potential - and its pain points.

Fellow MVP Jan Hajek and I started NETWORG to build Microsoft business applications the way professional developers expect: Dataverse plugins in C#, PCF components, custom connectors, automated testing with Playwright, and Azure DevOps pipelines that deploy code, infrastructure, and configuration as one unit. We adopted CI/CD and DevOps practices early because we kept hitting the ceiling of what point-and-click tooling could deliver.

I'm skeptical about AI hype. LLMs are excellent tools for working with unstructured information - but treating them like magic hurts adoption more than it helps. I focus on what actually works in production: architecture patterns documentation doesn't cover, real failures and workarounds, and why your AI-generated code still needs someone who understands what it's doing.

My sessions cover pro-developer experiences: Git monorepos, CI/CD pipelines, security internals, governance at scale, and AI-assisted full-stack development. If you've built a Power Platform app that grew beyond Excel automation into something mission-critical - and realized the tooling doesn't match the complexity anymore - these sessions are for you.

I organize the CZ/SK Power Platform User Group meetup at the Czech Microsoft office. Join us at https://ppug.community.

Hi, I’m Michiel Hamers, a Principal Cloud Expert, Implementation Manager, Trainer, and former Microsoft MVP with over 25 years of experience in the Microsoft ecosystem.

Since 2000, I’ve been helping organizations successfully adopt and optimize Microsoft technologies, with a focus on Azure, cloud architecture, performance, and cost management. As a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) and experienced consultant, I bridge strategy and execution, guiding both public and private sector teams through complex technical transformations.

I regularly speak at international conferences such as Developer Week, PowerShell + DevOps Global Summit, Global Azure, AzConf Chennai, Azure Fest, DevConf APG, FutureTech, and Dutch Cloud Meetup. I’m passionate about delivering hands-on workshops and tailored in-company trainings, helping teams sharpen their Azure, automation, and application lifecycle skills.

My mission is clear: help people and organizations get the most out of the cloud, with control, clarity, and confidence. Whether coaching colleagues, giving workshops, or advising on cloud-native modernization, I combine deep technical knowledge with a pragmatic, people-focused approach.

When I’m not working, I enjoy life with Sandra, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. For me, technology is about empowering people, not just systems.

Let’s connect and build something great together.

He’s also known in the DevOps tooling ecosystem and generalized Linux communities. If he isn’t building automation to streamline his work, he’s building the groundwork to do just that.

He lives and grew up in Austin, Texas. A father and husband, trying to learn to balance his natural nerdiness with family life. He enjoys a good strong dark ale, hoppy IPA, some team-building Artemis, and epic Gloomhaven campaigning.

He has recently dove headfirst into Fedora since IBM bought Redhat, but still secretly wants FreeBSD everywhere. He’s always trying to become a better web technology developer, though he normally just uses bash to get the job done.

Most Active Speakers 2024

Every year, we put together a list of the most active speakers. This list features the top 3% of speakers who have participated in events using Sessionize during the 2024.

The 3% is calculated from the pool of all speakers that have at least one accepted session in year 2024. We don't include inactive speakers or speakers that had no accepted sessions during the year. There are around 38,000 unique accepted speakers this year, the 3% is 1036. Not all of them have their speaker profiles set as public, and we respect that, so the list doesn't show all of them.

The calculation is based on the number of accepted events, that's the main criteria, but to get more refined results we also look at things like multiple sessions per event, sharing a session with a co-speaker and how big the event is. Number of submissions and declined sessions don't affect the list.

Please note that the count of events and sessions in this list does not represent the number of events and sessions from the year 2024. Instead, it shows the number of events and sessions featured on the speaker's public speaker profile; these numbers have nothing to do with the award itself.
